Default Homebirth/natural birth Mammas!

We are planning our second homebirth for this fall (our 4th natural birth) and I was wondering if there were any other homebirth/natural birth mammas lurking. I live in an area where I have to drive 90 minutes each way to get midwifery care, does anybody else do this?

I have a friend due any day who is planning a HB. I am thinking about HBAC for #2 (not pregnant yet).

My friend does drive at least an hour to her appts (one way)

I have several acquaintances/friends who have had HB

We were hoping for natural birth w/DS, but he was breech and chiro & acupuncture didn't help and I wasn't ready for a natural breech delivery

After my experience at the free standing birth center in town, if I were to move 40 minutes away I would still drive in so I could be with that group of midwives and have my baby there.

Not many homebirths around here b/c of state laws but I know one of the midwives that attends homebirths does house calls. Any chance of finding someone like that?

So, while I haven't actually had to travel for prenatal care I wouldn't be opposed to it. There aren't that many appointments till the end so it isn't too much traveling.

My midwife is 30 miles away and in Chicago traffic it can take either 45 mins or 2 hours or more.

I sure hope I don't go into labor during rush hour or DH will learn how to deliver a baby very quickly.

We had our third son at home & were assisted by two midwives. It was a great experience!
