Strollers are going to send me to the looney bin!

I have literally been researching strollers for more than a year now. My son is 10 months old, and I hate our Combi Cosmo -- the front wheels stick, there's no cupholder, and the basket is completely useless. Everything I've found out there is either way expensive or is missing one important thing.

I was determined to only buy one stroller, but I want a replacement now, and can't decide whether to buy another full-featured umbrella stroller or to go ahead and buy both a lightweight and a heavy-duty stroller.

All I want is a cupholder for me, good steering, a big basket, and a bar or tray to attach toys to. I would love a nice fold and a stylish look, but I don't think that's going to happen.

Any suggestions (other than to start my own stroller company!)?

A few questions that might help posters give you better answers: What would you use it for (park, paved sidewalks, hiking trails, rough terrain, snow, malls)? Do you want to be able to jog with it as well? Do you need to haul it in and out of a car? Do you think your DC will be tall? Do you want to have the option to convert it to a double?

All I use it for is errands/trips to the mall, walks around our neighborhood on paved sidewalks, the zoo - no jogging or hiking. I haul it in & out of my PT Cruiser hatchback often. I don't need a double, and DC is fairly tall right now.

Wht about a Baby Jogger City Mini? Easy to fold, great canopy and BJ is known for tall seats (although the Mini's seats are not as tall as the Elite and the Classic's seats). I would also look at a Maclaren Quest or Triumph. Macs are super light, easy to fold and fold super small so they don't take any room in the car. Macs are great for tall kids and can be used with older kids (4-5 years old). Macs don't have a lot of storage, so I got the universal organizer for my Triumph. Both of these steer really well. However, don't plan on hanging shopping bags/diapers on a Mac. They tip if you do that (hence the universal organizer). I'm sure other posters can give you other good recommendations of strollers they use/know. Good luck!

Inglesina Zippy has all of those except the big basket. It's adequate but not really big. Love the fold, steering and appearance.

I really love my Graco Mosaic as a budget do-all choice - although I don't know if I would consider the basket to be large... it can take a decent amount of additional stuff on the handlebars though, which helps if you need to transport alot of stuff

I think you would love a Baby Jogger City Mini. The only thing it doesnt have that you mentioned is the big basket. But all you have to do is get a "Mommy Hook" (or 2) and you can hang stuff from the handles easily.

Just by the way, rather than pay $6.99 for a "Mommy Hook", you can just buy a carabiner at Home Depot for $2.99- its the exact same thing just it doesnt say Mommy Hook on it, and it comes in pink or blue.

Love love love my Maclaren Triumph. It's great for everything that you have listed. I would also look at the Baby Jogger City Mini, Maclaren Quest, and the Peg Perego Si. Those would be good options if you want something that lays almost flat. I kind of wish I would've gotten a Maclaren Quest or XT because I bought my Mac when DD was 3 mos. old and even now at 3 dd still rests or sleeps in the Triumph so the extra recline might have been more useful, but overall I am super happy with the Triumph and have gotten lots of use out of it.

I'll throw this out there...Graco Metrolite. I was in the market for a new stroller, just because, and I was going to replace the Metrolite. At the end of the day, I opted to keep it and not buy anything new. I had the Maclaren Quest, Baby Planet Solo and BJCM on my list and I even tried a few for a few days. In the end, I loved the features of the full featured stroller and since it only weighs 17lbs it was in competition with both the BJCM and the Baby Planet stroller in terms of weight. I have a Civic and am able to get, all my groceries and all the other crap I carry in my trunk with ease. 6+ years that stroller is still going strong.
