Default Need advice re: breast feeding and sports bras

Hopefully this is on the mild end of TMI. I'm just starting to work out again b/c I really need to for my physical and mental well being. Running is what works for me. My breast are large when nursing (D or DD). I need a super tight sports bra to eliminate the bounce but I have a feeling it's a really bad idea in terms of plugged ducts and mastitis. I don't need a nursing sports bra per se, just something that will support me really well and not effect my breast feeding... or does having a large chest make it impossible to satisfy both criteria?

As always, any and all advice is so greatly appreciated

I'm also a D/DD while nursing and a runner.

I have a bra similar to this one by Champion:

It is supportive without having too much compression. I trained for and ran a marathon when DS was nursing, and I could not have done it without a really supportive bra!!

I'm a DD when I'm not nursing. My favorite running bra is the Fiona by Moving Comfort. Like the one Ry posted, it is very supportive without a lot of compression. You'll never go back to a mono-boob bra again.

ellies_mom beat me to it...the Fiona is the way to go. It's not a nursing sports bra, but it works as one thanks to the way the straps adjust, which is awesome. It was absolutely perfect when DS was still nursing!

It's a little pricey, but it's SO worth it. And sometimes, you can get lucky on Sierra Trading Post, if they have it in your size (usually not for me, though ).

This is the one I wore. There were times when I wore two. I would push DD in the stroller for 45 minutes to an hour (also helped with naps) and I never had a problem. I never had a problem with mastitis or plugged ducts.

I found a sports bra at Gap Body a couple years back that I just loved when DS was small & my chest was quite large. It was surprisingly cheap, comfortable, and supportive.

It was not a nursing sports bra, just a regular sports bra. I never felt compressed, just held firmly in place.

You've gotten lots of good suggestions - good luck shopping!

Thirding the Fiona by Moving Comfort. I didn't run, but skiied and cycled and was an F/G while nursing. The adjustable straps are a bonus too. I never had problems w/plugged ducts or mastitis due to the sports bra.
