Hi - we're going to NYC and on a cruise in six weeks, and I need to be prepared. My son is 20 months old, but neither of our strollers recline fully. Normally, I'm home at naptime. But with our busy travel schedule, there will be times that he'll need to nap in his stroller.
So, my question is, which strollers are lightweight enough for travel, but also recline fully? And are $100 or less, thereabouts? I already own a BOB Revolution, but that is way too bulky to take with us (plus, I do NOT trust the airline baggage people with that expensive of a stroller!) And we have a Chicco C6, but it doesn't recline. It is lightweight, but my son has never napped in there because he really needs a recline to nap. Doesn't have to lay flat, but at least recline some. Thanks so much! Last edited by tazzy; 07-26-2009 at 10:54 PM. |

A few off the top of my head (take them for a spin yourself before deciding):
Combi Flare ~$90 Chicco Capri (although the recline stinks - not deep) ~$70 Chicco Liteway ~$130 Graco Ipo ~$90 ...or if you like the Ipo but may have future children in infant buckets, I would recommend my Graco Mosaic (similar to the Ipo, but has a front bar to accept car seats) for only a little extra ~$110

we had a graco ipo and loved it. we sold it to a friend when we had #2. she travels a ton and they allow it as a carry-on. i guess they consider it an umbrella. decent recline, not flat, but plenty for sleep.

Esprit SpeedSun is about 14lbs and fully reclines. Its a nice little stroller and very reasonably priced. Love the neon colors (we have pink, but would have considered the green or even the blue), so easy to find.
http://www.gtbaby.com/home/Esprit_Sun_Speed.html ETA: I used to always call it the Sun Speed, but on my box it says SpeedSun. Weird. Anyway, it is very reasonably priced and nicely made. Not as tippy as the Mac Volo either. I will never travel with the Volo again and should just sell it b/c its a PITA for a travel stroller.

I always wondered about the sun speed. A local baby store recommended it to me but had none in stock. How does it push/steer? Anyone have the duo? --- I hear it's been on Woot for $100 a few times.
I think the uppa baby G-lite is only 8lbs, deep recline, and a little more than $100. check out the g-luxe too. Last edited by mimi2008; 07-27-2009 at 12:32 AM. |

The G-Lite actually doesn't recline... it's similar to the Maclaren Volo, really lightweight, but just one position. The G-Luxe reclines, but it's more in the $150 range.
