Default How do you handle bday parties during naptime?

We've been invited to a bday party we really want to go to. The problem is it is smack dab in the middle of DS' naptime. How do we attend with a DS that is not cranky because he missed his nap? I would think if he was able to take an earlier nap even if it was short we would be ok, but I have no clue how to achieve that. Tips / BTDT greatly appreciated!!!!

Default

My ds is a month older and we have had him miss naps for things. Since he is the 2nd born there are some things that we just need to do with ds1 even if the times don't work out great for poor ds2. He handles it well. His overtiredness doesn't usually show up till the evening. He hangs in there in the afternoon. A lot of the time he'll fall asleep on the way somewhere so that little power nap gives him some energy.

I don't like to miss nap time normally but I am more than happy to make exceptions. If things don't go well then you file it away and change things up in the future. You can always leave the party early too.
