Default Always make a list

I asked DH to pick up a few things at the store, one of which was crackers to go with soup I had made. He asked me what kind of crackers and I said I didn't care, just check the labels for something that was HFCS free. We regularly buy triscuits and store brand saltines, and he knows that they are both corn syrup free.

So he comes home with....Crab Seasoned "Crabbers"...white cheddar cheese crackers with Wye River Original Seasoning. WTF? I just said thank you- I DID say I didn't care what kind but I have to wonder while looking at a shelf of crackers to go with chicken noodle soup what made him think crab seasoning and cheddar was a good idea.

Men are VERY odd grocery shoppers. DH suffers from similar sort of behavior. It is just so odd.

I've discovered that I need to give brand name of an item as well as location (ie. same aisle as the coffee) in order to increase my chances of DH returning home with the correct item. I will sometimes even resort to visuals, and actually SHOW him the package of something that we are about to run out of so he knows what to look for.
Yeish. Why do they have to overcomplicate the simplest things?!

Even when I send DH with a list he always call me from his cell and says, "Now what did you want again?". It can be annoying but the upside is that we usually end up with the correct product.

Mine would come home with five different boxes of crackers and say "But I thought you'd want a choice. Better this than I bought the wrong ones, right?!" We'd be eating crackers for months.

Mine would say "they were on sale, so I bought 12 boxes"!

Never argue with an idiot. He'll bring you down to his level, then beat you with experience.

Last weekend DH took DS #1 to the grocery store to do our shopping. I didn't give him a list and told him to just get a few things. He got bacon cheddar cheese (HUH? I didn't even know they made this and he said it was on sale, well DUH), popcorn and ravoli. Just so RANDOM.

Who needs eggs and milk when you have bacon cheddar cheese and ravioli?

Does he have an iPhone or an iPod touch? There are some shopping applications that let you take a photo with your iPhone and add it to the grocery list. Then you can make the list online, send it to his iPhone and he will have it when he's in the store.

Mine, just never goes into the store...like never, ever.
