Angry Carpool Mom FORGOT my childs car seat!!!

Needless to say, I'm blowing a gasket....the carpool mom never even told me, I found out from DD and my babysitter. She just used the regular seat belt on my 4yo.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I need to purchase one of those high back boosters(not my choice, by far) for this one afternoon a week when I need DD to get a ride.

What should I buy? I'm not worried about the cost as I have a big gift card to use.

Thanks in advance.

I would say a TurboBooster would be a good place to start. It fits smaller kids well and isn't too hard to use. Teach your DD the proper way to route the belts so you don't have to count on this person. The Recaro Vivo is nice, but it can be hard to route the belt in the narrow guides so I don't know that I would send it with someone else... most of the other usual choices are heavy, not easy to use or don't fit little kids well.

For the belt routing, you use it like a captain's chair.... Lap and shoulder belt under the armrest on the buckle side, lap belt under the armrest on the other side and the shoulderbelt in the guide. Don't forget to use the screws in the armrests. I usually put the armrests in the higher position for easier use by people who may not be the most, um, detail-oriented.

Not my expertise, but the Parkway has a pretty good rep. around here (will your daughter know how to use the belt clip?) -- although you might also look at the Monterey, as it seems like it may cradle a younger child's head more? http://www.buybuybaby.com/product.as...73710&RN=7023&

The clip on the PW might be a challenge, but I think the Monterey is a seat suited to much broader/wider children. The shoulderbelt fit can be very poor (way too far out) on petite kids...so definitely make sure the fit is good before buying anything

The Parkway has a 40lb minimum weight limit. I'm eying it for DS when we need a booster, but at nearly 5 and 35lbs it will not be anytime soon.

What ever you get, make sure your DD knows how the belt is supposed to go, so she can tell someone if it's right or wrong.

Just mentioning as I know some people have light weight kiddos like mine. The clip for the seatbelt has to be used all the time, so it's something else to make sure your DD can either do herself, or knows how it should be to tell someone.
