Default Question about Walmart returns

DS1 had a gift card for Walmart, so he went with DH last night and bought a game for his new Nintendo DS. It's a ridiculous movie tie-in game (Monsters vs Aliens), and I know I would have tried to talk him into buying something else, but I wasn't there.

He "played" it for about an hour last night and was so frustrated. At one point I just asked him to turn it off since it was getting so upset about it, and even with my help we couldn't figure out how to get out of the section he was in, or how to pause/save it.

Is there any way we can return it? I'm guessing there isn't since it's opened, but I figured you guys would know!

You can't return it once it is opened unless it is defective. I know someone who returned it saying it was defective then returned the new unopned one but that was several years ago and I would assume they would put something on the receipt saying ti had been returned.

A more ethical option would be to take it to game stop and get a credit towards a new game.
