Default What is the difference between the old and new...

LF Fridge Phonics? So my Target had the old one on clearance for $10, and I know the new one is slated to be a superstar for BF. I bought both, I can return the old on and have the other PA on BF...Is newer better in this case? Since I don't have TRU, I bought Memory for $5, they had other pre-school games, too.

I could be totally wrong but I think the big issues is compatibility for the Word Whammer. The new one and old one are different size letters. My friend has both and the letters are NOT compatible with each other, which is a pain.

So is it better to buy the newer one?

Hmm, I have both (both from a few years ago) and the letters ARE compatible.

So is there a difference performance wise? It drives me nuts when they come out with new and improved things, that seems to be the same (except for the style).

If they are both from a few years ago, then they are both old so would be compatible. They have both been re-done so you need two old or two new to use together, ykwim?

Last year they changed from a green single letter/rectangular 3-letter (all uppercase) and lowercase expansion pack (mine's on ebay) to the smaller letter yellow single letter/white jet w/lowercase included model. does that make sense?

I kept the new ones because they are smaller and take up less space on my door. The older letters do not fit in the newer model.
