I think my DH has either $1M or $1.5M, I have $1M - 1/2 of that is term life that I pay for $28.44/month, the other 1/2 is thru DH's work. I don't know what he pays for that. I'm in my early 30s and the one I pay for is term life, 30 years I think. DH's insurance is all thru his work.

We have differing amounts on each of us because I work and DH is a SAHD. We basically wanted to cover mortgage, child care and college. We have term policies that expire right around retirement age, at which point the house is paid off, college for DD will be done and we won't need child care.
