Please help me in trying to decide which of these would make a best 1st scooter for a relatively coordinated DC. I was sold on the mini or maxi kick, then looked at some of the MANY razors out there and got confused. I see razor has a "crusier" (wider platform), an "A", an "A2", and An "A3",a "Jr" (and the list goes on and on). I'm so confused now and not seven sure of the difference between the "A" models. Help!

Jack is on the little side, and he'll be 4 in May- I bought him the Mini. It seems more sturdy, and the neighbor's 6 year old uses one similar.

If you go with a Razor, the basic A version is all you need. They usually go on sale for around $20 so just watch for ads.
As for what scooter to get, this depends on your child and their coordination. My DS has been using his Razor since he was four. He picked it up immediately. However, my nephew, who is almost five, does not like the Razor I bought him. I think it might go too fast. He is more comfortable on his older scooter which has four wheels. DD is 3.5. She has a 3 wheel scooter she loves. She has tried DS's Razor a few times but is definitely not ready for one of her own. I probably won't get her a Razor until another year or more. DS has great coordination and balance and loves to go fast. He also goes BMX biking with DH. He is definitely a thrill seeker, iykwim. DD and DN are the much more cautious type, and prefer something sturdier. eta: If you get the Razor, buy a helmet and a set of pads for knees/elbows. The other ones need a helmet but perhaps not the pads.

Forgot to add, the basic A Razor is a basic scooter. There is a brake on the back so the child can slow down. The handle bar height is adjustable. The A2 is the same, but has a wheelie bar on the back. At four years old, I did not want my son doing wheelies, so I went with the basic. The A3 has the wheelie bar as well, and I think larger wheels. I am considering this for DS's next scooter, as his basic A Razor is starting to bite the dust (we live near the beach so everything rusts!). The Cruiser has a wider platform and larger wheels. The platform is wooden, not metal like the other Razors. I personally have not seen the cruiser but it gets decent reviews on Amazon. IMO, a wider base is really not needed as only one foot is really on the base, and the other one is used to scoot or brake. A wider base might be more comfortable for a younger child, though.
Another awesome feature of the Razors is they all fold in half! I used to walk up to DS's school every afternoon with his scooter and helmet, and he would ride home.
