Default S/O Eye Candy thread...

I was reading our choices for Eye Candy... and agree with most of your answers.

But it got me thinking- Do you wonder what your daughters are going to think of your choices when they are our ages?

Like- I look at the guys my mom thought were hot- Clint Eastwood, Rock Hudson, Frankie Avalon... guys who were "hot" in the 50's and 60's... and I thought they were not good looking at all.. (Like Clark Gable... Woof.)

I wonder if these girls will think George Clooney was hot or if he was just a doofus with good hair.

My mom's biggest crush was Paul Newman, and I have to agree with her. I don't think there's been a hotter actor since Paul in his Butch Cassidy days.

But I agree - Clark Gable, yuck!

Personally, I assume younger Brad Pitt or Denzel Washington's sex appeal will stand the test of time! But I don't know about the Edward Cullen/Orlando Bloom type heartthrobs, or Clooney, for that matter, who I've never found all that exciting.

I think the girls will think my choices are too dated. Rob Lowe, Chris Noth, maybe they'll stand the test of time. But Ludacris (sorry can't help it), and Warrick on CSI whose name I can never remember, probably not.

I agree on Denzel Washington!! George Clooney, I think his appeal is mostly his personality. You have to hear him talk in an interview or something to really get it. As just a face, meh.

As Carrie on SATC so eloquently stated, Clooney is like a Chanel suit. He will never go out of style. Boyfriend to me may not be the most handsome man in the world but he has a lot of charisma and I love a man who looks good in a tux.

Before my kids laugh at me over Jon Bon Jovi, I just want them to bypass his pics from the 80's and appreciate Jon in his 40's. The man has aged like a fine wine.

Interesting. I still think a lot of the of the old-school boys are hotties....Cary Grant is at the top of my list. But I do think it's interesting how "styles" change even when it comes to who is attractive.

Mmmmm, LOVE Cary Grant. I think Clooney reminds me of him a bit.

Sort of interesting to consider because I definitely think some of my mom's hotties are palatable. I'm thinking Redford and Newman.

My mom's biggest crush was George Harrison. Forty plus years later she'll still tell you the biggest star she liked was George Harrison.

From her generation and generations past I thought JFK, Clark Gable, and Cary Grant were the best looking guys. My grandparents went to college with Gregory Peck so he always had a special place in my Grandma's memory (I don't think they knew him well though). I also had an early interest in Clint Eastwood as a child, because of that darn movie Any Which Way But Loose where his side kick is a monkey....loved it!

Well, when I look back on it now, my mom had pretty good taste...Michael Douglas and James Garner were (are?) two of her favorites. I think DD would look at my list and think...WTH? What's with all of the old guys? Not that they're old, but I've always liked 'em older than my friends.

Even in college, almost 15 years ago (gulp), I was all about Harrison Ford, first noticed John Slattery, and always seemed to like the more mature gentlemen. In like 7/8th grade, I was all about Michael J. Fox, which leads to my second category-- more nerdy types. If I mention someone I run into at work as "good looking" to my female co-workers, they're always like..."What?? Seriously?" What can I say? So, I guess DD's going to think that I liked a bunch of dork geezers, I don't know.
