Default Softest, Most Comfortable Jeans for Kids?

Looks like my dd3 is developing all the same idiosyncracies that dd1 had about clothes/shoes. One of them is jeans....doesn't like the way they feel around her tummy, etc. I love them because I don't have to worry about matching and they wear better than leggings. Her gymbo leggings need to get replaced and I'd like to try some jeans...Can anyone recommend super duper soft comfortable ones to try?

Watching this thread. We have the same issues here. I found some great Naartjie elastic waist cords a few months ago and she has worn them 3 times a week since. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find another pair.

Not sure how much you're willing to pay and what jean style/cut (loose, bootcut, flare, etc.) your DD likes, but how about HA comfort cords? They are unisex and have an elastic waist with a functional drawstring and looser fit. I have a pair for DS and it's a pretty soft denim. I believe the outlet price is about 20-25% off the retail/online price.

Comfort cords are boy jeans. For a 4 yr old girl who is fussy about jeans, I wouldn't recommend going with boyish jeans! They are brutal in their rejection, and IME the more money you've spent on an item, the more likely it is to gather dust in their closet.

To the OP, I would tread verrrry carefully here. Before you invest in expensive jeans, consider whether you can use pull-on pants/leggings for the same purposes as jeans. I made the mistake of buying all kinds of great jeans for DD (of which I found Mini Boden pull-ons the best/most comfy) only to have her wholesale reject jeans and pants altogether. She is now at the point where she will.not.ever.wear.jeans. The mini Boden heart patch cords are the only pants that ever get worn, and occasionally H&M pull-on cords, but absolutely nothing with a zipper and button.

Really? Wonder why they're in the girl's section also.. I guess I can see a girl wear it only if she likes a looser/more comfy fit.

DD won't wear anything that isn't knit. We've not had a pair of jeans for her in the house since she was 2.

DD has some pull on Carter's jeans that have a cute and comfortable stretch fleece waistband.

I tried to find a picture online, but it looks like all the winter stuff is gone now.

Yep, I should have said "boyish" rather than boy jeans. I envy the moms whose girls don't care what they wear, but if you have a girl that does, she probably won't be wearing the HA comfort jeans!

I purchased a pair of Nautica jeans for DS about two years ago that were really soft. Levis are a bit soft, but not as much as the Nautica ones. I don't remember where the store was (we were on a road trip somewhere, just don't remember where), but it was in a mall and an actual Nautica store, not an outlet. I do remember wishing I had bought several pair because I liked them so much (except the $$$). I do remember buying DS (I know it's the wrong gender) some pull up style pants (just an elastic waist) when he was younger from Gymboree that got a lot of use and they had a soft, cottony feel to them ... they weren't jeans though. They seemed pretty gender neutral.

I wish we had that problem. DS is very tall for his age and super skinny but with a girl's booty (just like his dad, :P ), so we have a really hard time finding jeans for him that work well. We can only buy ones with adjustable waists and we have to go with brands that are longer than most ... right now, he's got a few Levis (which look the best on him) and three pairs of Guess jeans (from Costco). And even those are starting to look too short, but I've had it with buying him new jeans every 2 or 3 months (I detest the humidity and heat of the summer, but it sure is easier to dress DS then!!). If we had to deal with texture idiosyncrasies like you, DS would be going half naked to school because it's almost impossible to find him jeans that fit his body shape. I feel for you!!

Mine would probably wear them... but I probably wouldn't buy them. I wish we had and H&M here to try their cords....Boden is too pricey for us, even second from Ebay.
