Default Need Convertible/Booster advice

My DS just turned 3 1/2 and is nearly 43" tall and 35 lbs. He's got a fairly long torso and is very close to outgrowing the Sceneras that we have for both of his grandma's cars (one drives him several times a week, one drives him 1-2 times a week so they both need a seat). He's in a Boulevard in our car.

I want to keep him harnessed as long as possible (at least until he's 5) since he's wiggly and frequently falls asleep in the car. I've been looking at the Evenflo Generations65 and the Maestro Combination boosters for him for grandma cars. Does anyone know how tall is the maximum harness slot from the seat? I think the Sceneras are 14" but I'll have to check tomorrow to be sure. Are there any other combo/boosters that I should consider? Things are tight right now so two Frontiers are out of the question (though I do like that one).

Thanks in advance!

The Generations is around 16" and the Maestro around 18". I would lean toward the Maestro. I would think you can get to at least age five before he outgrows the 50 weight limit and if he hasn't outgrown it on height when he gets there it makes a good booster. The Generations does have the higher weight limit, but you are unlikely to get past 50 lbs in that seat either because of the shorter height. The Generations does not do as well as a booster.

The only other seat in that price range would be the Apex (seen at BigLots for around $85) which has the 65 lb limit and the top slots are between the other two. The only problem is that it needs a headrest behind it for support.
