Default Montreal questions

The extended family is meeting up in Montreal for a few days this summer, and I have a couple of questions for those familiar w/ Montreal- I've never been there (but am looking forward to it!)

1- Suggestions for what to do with 2 kids (5 and 2) and 6 adults (3 of whom aren't parents and will probably tire of "kid stuff."

2- Location to stay... I'm looking at 2 options. One is a B&B in the Plateau neighborhood (not sure how I feel about 2 energetic early-rising boys in a B&B), and the other is an apt by owner that is downtown- not sure of the neighborhood, but looks like it's near the Pont Jacques Cartier and Ste Catherine's street (which they told me is pedestrian only during the summer).

Thanks!

Does the apt have a pool??? It's always nice to have a pool so kids can burn off energy, even first thing in the morning. I guess a B&B wouldn't be my first choice with kids.

I haven't been to Montreal in ages, but I know friends who go love the Biodome. http://www2.ville.montreal.qc.ca/biodome/

Old Montreal is wonderful to walk around, the kids would love the horse drawn carriage rides on the cobblestone streets.

Montreal is a great city!!! Also, if you don't speak French it's fine, there is a lot of English spoken.

If you're driving know that the drivers there are about the craziest I've ever experienced, I've driven in NYC, LA, Chicago and Montreal is by far the worst! FYI "PONT", means bridge, you don't want to end up on one unless you plan to.

I'm hoping Molly will see this post as she lives in Montreal (she hasn't been posting as much lately, I know she's been busy)
