Default UPDATE inside: Help-my dog is sooooo sick

******Her stomach flipped, my baby is gone.******

I have a female shepherd, 6, that has had off and on issues with a bee sting/allergic reaction, infection, etc. We thought it had all healed and she seemed OK.

Yesterday we went to dinner (haven't in a long time) for an hour, came home, found the dog throwing up clear liquid and white foam all over the yard. Subsequently, all over the house. Perfectly fine dog before we left, came home and she was sick. I suspect someone gave her something over the fence /or she was not "over" her earlier illness.

She seemed ok today, after eating a little food, all the symptoms returned, can't take her to vet until tomorrow am. I really really don't know if she will make it till then...

The WORST thing is my oldest daughter, who is absolutely atta ched to this dog is in Chicago with her grandmother.

I am ***sick***. Any ideas folks?

Until you know if she for sure didn't ingest something poisonous, don't force her to vomit. Just like in humans, sometimes forcing the product back up can cause more harm than leaving it in the system.

Do you notice any grass in her vomit? Dogs will instictively (sp?) eat grass as a way to cause themselves to vomit up a toxic substance. Do you have an extra digital thermometer handy? Take her temp, using a dab on vaseline, should be around 101. Is she vomitting or BM-ing blood? Drooling excessively?

Take note of all these things, keep a close eye on her tonight and call your vet tomorrow.

I am so sorry for you and your family. Losing a pet is so hard; I can't yet imagine how hard it is when your child is so attached too.
