Default What should I buy at Ikea that I can take back on plane in a suitcase?

We're flying soon to a city that has an Ikea, so I am looking for suggestions of things I could buy there that would fit in my suitcase. Specifically, I'm interested in favorites of yours that are items that can only be found at Ikea (not at other stores). Thanks in advance for any recommendations--I'm excited about my first Ikea store experience!

Edited to add that I should have mentioned that my boys are 7 and 4, so I'm looking for things appealing to older kids or tools for the kitchen, for organizing, for decorating, etc. Thanks!

Yes, to all three of those. I also really like the waterproof mattress cover I bought for my DS big boy bed. It doesn't have vinyl on it like some waterproof mattresses. My DS loves a little finger puppet snake I bought him there. Everything else I like is too big.

Add in their super cheap bibs and placemats. They also have cute hand puppets and finger puppets that are cheap. I'm not sure if you can fit in a roll of their artist paper, but it's the least expensive I've seen.

For you, they have pretty comfort covers for not much $$. Also, nice picture frames.

IKEA also has child safe frames for the kids' room. Not sure how big you are willing to take back. But after a picture fell in my daycare provider's son's room and he could not go in all day until they picked it up, I've been thinking these frames are a GREAT deal!

I love their blue kitchen shears. They just seem better than others I have had.

How big is your suitcase? There is so much to see at Ikea I think you might get overwhelmed without a plan. Why not look online and get a good idea of what you want to check out?

I love the big blue shopping bags. I have one and use it as my giant reusable bag. It is a monster, big enough to take to the beach.

I bought a ton of Christmas paper on clearance for something insane like 10 cents a pack. It is really nice. Thick enough stuff doesn't show though and had matching tags and bows. Be sure to cruise through the clearance area. Most of it is broken junk but then some is just overstock. Worth a peek!

I like the kids lamps, the little plastic ones. The train tracks are nice, as are the rolls of art paper. Just as a head's up: the square bottles of kids paint DON'T wash out of clothes. Ask how I know!

Oh, and I LOVE the pop up hampers. I even take one in my suitcase when I know I'm going to be in a hotel a long time because they are so compact and useful to drag the clothes to the laundry.

DD has a few of the pop up bins that are so cute. We love the little round ones. Super handy.

We like their Spoka nightlights, found in the children's section. They're cute, cool, and fun for kids and adults!

I was just about to post about the Spoka night lights too! We have 5 of them, and we LOVE them! (Especially after last week's power outage...) We just recently bought both of the new ones they came out with, and I didn't realize until last week that they change colors. So fun.
