Default What is in your diaper bag?

I searched for old threads and didn't find one with this question...if I missed it pls. post the link...

if not...

What do you have in your diaper bag?

I"m going to have at least two diaper bags...one for me...one for my mother who will be caring for DD...and possibly one for DH and a fourth back up bag in my car...

I'm trying to decide what all needs to go in each...any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

This is what I typically have:
3+ diapers (had more when DD was a newborn or going to daycare)
diaper cream, wipes, Tylenol infant drops, mylicon
1-2 toys (chew toys for early stages, now crayons and coloring book)
clean shirt and pants (change of clothes)
Hand wipes for after diaper changes
dried snacks (cranberries, apple, etc)
extra spoon or bib when eating out.

I usually carry a sippy- sometimes with water- and occasionally a can of apple juice- when she was smaller, I carried bottled water and formula, as she couldn't breastfeed. Also a burp towel or similar for spit ups.

I keep it simple: diapers, wipes, simple changing pad, a small tube of Bert's Bee's Diaper cream and some hand cleaning gel. When you have a little one you should carry around a clean set of clothes because they will have giant poops "blowouts" that get all over everything. For these is good to have a gallon size ziplock bag to put the dirty clothes into. That's it. I have carried a bunch of other stuff (tylenol, nail clippers, hair brushes etc) and NEVER used them. I have a backup bag in the car; I believe it just has diapers, wipes, diaper bags (biodegradable), and a changing pad.

The diaper bag generally has all the above, plus a burp cloth (which I also use under the baby's head when I'm using the diaper bag as a nursing pillow), a blanket in case I need to try to cover while nursing, a change of clothes in case of an accident, and a plastic ziplock bag big enough to fit a soiled outfit. If we'll be visiting someone's house, or a restaurant, I'll add a few toys. But that's it. If we need more than that for a longer visit, I just pack an additional bag.

I keep a pacifier in a plastic baggie in my purse, as I usually leave the diaper bag in the car when we go into a store, but that I might want quickly. Some moms give up the purse and just use the diaper bag though.

Eta: I also keep a small bottle of hand sanitizer in my purse.

The things have changed as DD gets older..........but at all times I have a travel wipes case, 3-4 diapers, diaper cream, crayons, hand sanitizer and a mini first aid kit. The bag has it's own changing pad.
I add food, water, toys, sunscreen/hat/winter item to the bag...depending on where we are going and how long we'll be away.

When DD was a baby, I made sure to have a change of clothes, an extra paci and what I needed to nurse her (or give her a bottle of BM) while we were out.....and depending on the weather, a hat or blanket.

I have one of these in my car and DH's car in case we don't take the diaper bag (like running to the grocery store or target....or if supplies run low in the diaper bag)

A few diapers (always had more in the car), travel case of wipes, Wet Ones wipes for hands, hand sanitizer, tylenol, benadryl for his food allergies, gallon size ziplock bag for dirty clothes/diaper, a onesie outfit, changing pad, burp cloth, baggie with chew toys/paci's, at least one toy that was entertaining/noisy, small light blanket when i was nursing or if it was cool somewhere we were and often a shirt for me just in case, gerber puffs or some sort of snack and a sippy with water.

Obviously most of that was when ds was little, I felt like I carried a ton around but honestly at some point I needed all of it and was thankful I had packed it! Now that he's almost 2 as long as I have a diaper, wipes, hand wipes, snack, sippy and a couple trucks we are good to go!

My diaper bag has
3 disposable diapers
Travel wipes case with wipes
Changing pad
One sleeper
2 bottles (dd is formula fed)
Hand sanitizer
Sunblock (for ds and me)
My wallet
My cell
My sunglasses
My lip balm
My keys

I only take the diaper bag if we will be gone for an hour or more or I anticipate needing to feed dd. Otherwise I usually take my purse and rely on my car bag of diapers, wipes and a change of clothes. Also, I don't usually take the diaper bag with the stroller for walks. I have a couple of diapers and some wipes in zip locks in the basket of the stroller and take a bottle along as needed.

Newborn-6m
-2 diapers
-about 6 wipes (in a ziploc bag)
-2 disposable changing pads
-thin receiving blanket
-small toy
-burp cloth
-extra outfit for baby
-spare large t-shirt that could fit me or dh if we needed it
-pacifier holder clipped on to bag and 1 pacifier

Older than that
-took out the blanket and pacifier, left the rest
-added more toys, crayons and snacks

I prefer to travel as light as possible. My car is one giant diaper bag where I keep all the stuff for "what ifs". I have no desire to lug it all around. eta- that means things like suntan lotion, hand sanitizer, towels, extra outer gear, pair of shoes, more toys, hats, balls...it's all in there.

My diapered child is 18 months old. I must confess to not really having a diaper bag at all. I grab a couple of diapers and wipes when we leave and stuff them in a sack or my purse. Since we use cloth, I bring the dirties home in a plastic sack or a tiny wet bag. If we are leaving for long, I will make sure to grab a cup with a lid or water bottle for him.
