Default What books do you like for your 2-3 year old lately?

I feel a book order coming on.... We LOVE our local libraries, and get books all the time, but mommy feels like we need a few more options in our permanant collection

so what books do/did your 2-3 (or even a little older) year olds like? what books did YOU like for them at this age? (ie, didn't drive YOU crazy)

i'd say lu has a pretty good attention span. she likes most everything...not terribly picky or opionated about her "tastes" yet.

TIA!

Arwyn likes the Boynton Books. "Barnyard Dance" is a huge favorite in this house. She also like "Dim Sum for Everyone," "Red is a Dragon," and "Kite Flying." We also have a collection of Dora the Explorer books (probably based on episodes) that she loves. Her favorites are Dora Loves Boots, Dora goes to School, and Show Me Your Smile (dentist).

We got Madeline earlier this year and she LOVES that book. Then there's a "potty training" book called Everyone Poops that's a real hoot. Another hot one around here

My son is almost 3 now -- so just in this range.

Sandra Boynton is a HUGE favorite. He has Blue Hat, Green Hat, Pajama Time, and Doggies memorized such that he can "Read" them himself. (Oh and Moo Baa LalAla). he also enjoys Belly Button book, Hippos go Beserk, and Snuggle Puppy.

Other favorite books:
We're going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen
Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see by Eric Carle
I'm the Biggest thing in the Ocean by Kevin Sherry
Snowmen at night by Carolyn Buehner
Good Egg by Barney Saltzberg
mr. Brown can moo, can you by Dr. Seuss
And Mother Goose nursery rhymes (still looking for another good book)
Bears on Wheels by Stan and Jan Berenstain

Usborne books That's not my Lion and That's Not my Car

Not going to repeat, but yeah, most of those above.

Hand, Hand, Finger, Thumb
Also just about anything by Russell Hoban (Frances, Harvey's Hideout)
A Zoo for Mister Muster
the Alfie books
Pancakes, Pancakes by Eric Carle
Happy Birthday to you by Dr Seuss
cook-a-doodle-doo by janel stevens & susan stevens crummel
(also by them: Tops & bottoms & and the dish ran away with the spoon)
Pinkalicious (i hate this book, but dd2 can't get enough of it)
Mike Mulligan
Caps for Sale
Goodnight Moon
Amelia Bedelia
The Wheels on the Bus by Paul Zelinsky
Miss Nelson is Missing
Sylvester and the Magic Pebble by William Steig
Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day
Duck Soup (forgot author)
Harold and the Purple Crayon

I realize these are on the older side of things, but bedtime reading is for everyone & my oldest is 7. We go back and forth. I can peruse my library for more titles if you want more. (Some of my books I had to get used because they were out of print. I remembered them from when my mother read them to me when I was little. It's worth it to hunt them down though.)
