Default do you still buy gas from bp?

i don't drive or buy gas often, but 99% of the time that i do buy it, i stop at the same place on the way home from work

that used to be a BP

but i switched post leak

i was mentioning this to my dad and he said he initially stopped buying from them as well, but has gone back b/c he said each station is independently owned...so while you are sort of screwing the company...you're mostly screwing the (innocent) station owner

i think i'll stick with my no-BP policy, but was just wondering what others thought

thanks

I never did buy their gas, I always go to Sunoco, where I have a gas card. But there is 2 convenience stores near me that I know sold BP, and they both now have cloths/tarps covering their gas sign, so you can't see the BP. So I'm wondering, did they switch suppliers, or are they trying to fool people into unknowingly buy BP gas?

None of the BP gas stations are owned by BP. So by not buying gas at BP on purpose, you just hurting a small business owner who supports the community. Also, I really want BP to remain a healthy company and not file for bk, because then they will be around to be able clean up and be held accountable. Just my two cents.

THIS!

I knew they are all independently owned so you are actually hurting the owner.

I haven't been to BP in probably 10 yrs. when BP first moved out of CA. Currently ARCO in California is a subsidy of BP and it's not great gas (plus they only take cash or ATM w/a surcharge fee) so we never go there.

I do agree with Kindra though if BP was my neighborhood station and their gas was top tier gas I'd support the local station owner.

No BP stations around here but since they are independently owned the owners are just additional victims (not as direct, but still victims) of the spill.

I haven't bought BP gas in a really long time, and only do so now if I'm traveling and it's the only option. I feel like their gas isn't as good as others and while I was in college my parent's had to have some major work done to one of their cars...and they were asked where they bought gas (BP) and told that the gunky build-up from the BP gas caused the car problem.............now I'm not sure how accurate this is, but it's always stuck with me.

There will be enough people hurt business wise from the spill that boycotting their gas will cause more problems for the station owner not BP

there isnt one that i normally drive by on my commute, but if there were it would be based on price. i would never purposely boycott them because it hurts the business owners not the company, but if another station is cheap....i'm there.

Alot of the stations around here are BP. My first impulse was to skip over them and go somewhere else but then I thought about the independent owners etc. I also feel that it could have really been any of the oil companies in this predicament - BP just happened to have the first huge catastophe of this magnitude.
