Default Ebay Experts some shipping??

Ok I'm starting to list my fall items. I usually ship all things priority since I know the costs involved but allow for combined shipments with no charge in summer and a minimal charge in the fall since items are heavier. I take some losses on occaision which I'm ok with. I was thinking of offering a first class option with the calculator but I'm not sure how to make it work. It said you could not have an item over 1lb?? One pair of pants i just weighed, weighs a 1lb on its own? Should I just indicate that I would quote shipping costs to individuals? Any ideas? I've shipped first class if people ask me about it but haven't advertised that in the past. I'm just confused on how to make the combined shipments work with the automatic calculater. Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks

I think parcel post is the type of shipping that you want. First class is just for small items in an envelope.

First class mail goes up to 13oz. After that, the other non-priority option is parcel post, but sometimes it is only a little bit less than priority. Be careful when combining auctions if it is going to put you over the 13 oz. limit because parcel post and priority can be much more than first class. Poly envelopes are the way to go for mailing clothes, IMO. They are light, can't be torn (easily) and are waterproof. I just write on the envelope with a sharpie.
Use the custom weight option when setting up your shipping options and type in the weight up to 13 oz. for first class. For parcel or priority, you can use the drop down to indicate 1-2 lbs, 2-3 lbs, etc. I recommend using the calculator as opposed to a flat amount because some mailing zones are a lot more expensive than others.
