I love shoes, especially girl shoes, so I have a hard time containing myself from great sales and types of shoes for DD. I'm trying to figure out how many shoes she really needs each season. My head says two pairs for this fall/winter - tennis shoes and patent black shoes for church - but my heart loves the idea of a cute pair of boots and some mary janes.
What is your policy?

I usually have 4-5 pairs for DD & I let her pick which one she wants to wear (within reason). What's the harm? I don't think I've ever spend more than $25 on a pair. Amazon has great prices on Nordstrom brands like Umi, Primigi and Naturino.

Currently DD (22 mos) has about 3 or 4 pairs of shoes that fit her, but only 2 that we wear on a regular basis. This is what I'm finding... that two pairs is more than enough. For winter it will probably be warm boots and maybe some sneakers. Haven't thought that far ahead actually.

I'm a bit obsessed with shoes so my DD has many pairs. Currently she has 4 pairs that she wears regulalry and then 3 or 4 pairs that get only occasional wear. In reality I think we could get by with 2 or 3. Our favorite brand is Vincent shoes a,d I usually buy online when they are on sale. They hold up really well to the abuse of daycare/preschool and are very cute.

For school...2-sneaker and dress shoe. With having to buy new shoes every 6mos because of her foot growing I just can't stomach buying more than that.

For winter, DD usually has a pair of boots, a pair of sneakers, a pair of dress shoes, and a pair of mammoth crocs/clogs (something easy on, easy off). For summer, she usually has a pair of sneakers, a pair of sandals, and one or two pairs of flip flops.

wow, i thought I was minimalist. I have
1 pair of brown shoes 1 pair of pink shoes 1 pair of purple shoes 1 pair of black boots for holiday attire 1 pair rainboots I think you need at least 2 pairs of casual shoes (sneaker or MJ) in case if one pair gets dirty/wet. For summer time, I get 1 pair of white sandals 1 pair of pink sandals 1 pair of purple sandals Either the pink or purple is Keens, and the other pair is crocs for easy on/off. the white is for dressier occasions. ________ Pre-Paid Legal Services Dicussion Last edited by mshen; 02-19-2011 at 08:07 AM. |

My kid is only 2 so I'm a newbie at this but so far we've found that two pairs of shoes plus a 'seasonal' shoe foots the bill.
In the summertime we have: 1 pair sneakers 1 pair sandals (works for dress shoe) 1 pair of water shoes I think we're going to stick with 1 pair sneakers, 1 pair dressier shoe and 1 seasonal shoe (water shoes, rain boots, winter boots). We haven't bought winter boots yet but since she's walking and running about now, I'm guessing this winter we will definitely be buying some sort of winter boot. Honestly, we haven't really bought any dressy dressy shoes because 1) she rarely wears dressy shoes and 2) her feet are growing out of her shoes every 3 months. For church, we have a nice pair of sandals or closed toes shoes that can go for dressy. We'll need to buy a dressy shoe for my brother's wedding in the fall but I figure that's a special occasion thing. |
