Default any blackberry experts?

My current phone is a Blackberry Tour 9630. I am switching carriers and got a free Curve 8310. I think my current phone is nicer/more advanced so I think I will stick with it - but can anyone confirm? I believe the Tour was only made for Verizon so there is nothing comparable from AT&T (new carrier).

Yes, the Tour is more advanced. Keyboard is different, but the biggest difference you'll notice is that the screen is much sharper.

Does your Tour have threaded text messaging? The Curve shouldn't, and that can get annoying.

I just checked AT&T. They have the Blackberry Bold. That should be comparable to the Tour.

I have a tour and use to have the curve 8530, some differences, tour has a flash for photos/video, an easy keypad lock button on the top but has a roller ball (not sure if the curve you are referring to has the roller ball or touch pad.) i like the tour better but that just may be b/c I had it longer than the curve and have had more time to learn how to use it. I'm with Sprint so dont know about at&t although I am intrigued by the new blackberry torch

That might be it. I was on Sprint. Went from the Curve 8330 to the Tour. Then went back briefly. I did like the Tour better, but mainly cuz of the screen and the threaded texting. If you don't text much, that might not matter. Otherwise, I generally liked the Curve better, but I think it's cuz I was so used to it.

Now I'm on the iPhone. You don't know how bad a BB is until you've used an iPhone. That said, I do miss a physical keyboard.

My dh has a Torch (or whatever the newest one is called) through AT & T. I have a Bold through Verizon (and dh has one too) because most of my family members have Verizon & it's just easier that way. I had the 1st iPhone and I disliked it. I need a real keyboard.

Thanks all. I didnt want to activate service on the Curve but it seemed that it didn't have threaded texts - and I could never go back to NOT having threaded texts. I was so annoyed by that feature at first because I didnt understand what it was, and now I can't imagine texting without it!

I have the Curve 8310 and if you're referring to seeing the whole texting convo by scrolling down the thread, then yes it does have it. I love it. Makes texting s much easier when you need to get something from a previous text.

I opened this thread prepared to share:

-Prickly bush removal strategies
-recipes for pie, jam and syrup
-questions about the season and preserving techniques

As for the other sort of blackberry, I have an old Curve inherited from my brother and know nothing!
