True. It seemed like the OP wanted something new or something she could register for though. But yes, StrollerSwap is a great resource for getting something infant-appropriate on a budget! It's a Yahoo Group you can join, OP, if you've never heard of it. Strollerqueen runs it.

![]() ![]() ![]() I also have a mosiac and a snugride35 and love it. The stroller weighs 19lbs but you get so used to lifting and carrying when you're a mommy you don't really notice the extra weight. The Graco Ipo is another option - its lighter version of the mosaic but does NOT accept car seats. Before you buy/get gifted the babytrend stroller go see it!!!! Its very very narrow and cheapy feeling. The wheels are very tiny so the ride is bumpy and difficult to push. I think a cheapo umbrella would be nicer to use long term than this. |

IMO I would still take an Indigo for $120 and use it for the first 18 months. This is my biggest regret - that it wasn't available when my LO was born. I may not have 4+ strollers right now if it was (I may still, but who knows). Then I would wait until BRU has their 30% off clearance and a 20% off coupon and grab a Triumph for $90 or a Volo for $65 in a year or a year and a half...
Just my two cents, but I've been through some stroller mistakes and done a lot of research. |

Yep, I'd get an Indigo and call it a day.

Not to continue to suggest the Indigo, but I was in your boat not too long ago.
My baby is 8 weeks old. Before she was born, I imagined that I mostly would be a baby wearer and didn't want to spend tons of money on a stroller. That said, I did want a BOB stroller for use outside and in parks etc, but since you can't jog with them until 12 months, and they only face forward, I was saving it for later. I didn't want to spend a heck of a lot of money though on a stroller for the first year and a snap and go if I was going to get the Bob later. I wanted the following criteria: -baby to be able to face me -good enough recline for newborn (flat basically) -inexpensive -not too big to fit in the trunk of my subaru sedan -not too heavy for me to deal with I was never going to carry my baby in the infant seat because frankly I am too weak. But I had considered putting my baby in the seat on the snap n go before I learned that it isn't as good for the babyl. I still was planning to carry my baby mostly so still didn't want to spend a load of money, but didn't want an inadequate stroller. I got the indigo, and it doesn't seem heavy at all to me, but because my baby faces me (which is wonderful), I pick up the two pieces separately. I would not call these pieces heavy at all. I use my stroller far more than I had anticipated, though I still do carry my baby a lot too. (The stroller holds the bags quite often while I hold baby). It is extremely inexpensive compared to other strollers that have this feature. I am sure that the Vista is technically nicer, but I think it is much larger for putting in the trunk and far far more expensive. I would at least take a look at the Indigo. I feel like it covers three main stroller types. The baby stroller for a little tiny one, the snap n go because you can attach the car seat if you want, and the toddler stroller because it has continued use through at least 40 lbs I think. I'm thrilled with mine.

You all have been VERY helpful! I've been able to narrow down my search to the:
Kolcraft Contours Lite Stroller - Tangelo (Can be purchased through Target, so I can put it on the registry) OR The First Years Indigo Stroller (Hubby and I will have to buy that one our self since neither BRU or Target sell it) If we go with the Indigo, how can I tell if the Graco Snugridder 35 will work with the frame? Thanks again. You all brought up some strong points I hadn't yet considered, And being a soon-to-be-first-time mom I needed to hear all of this. Him and I will discuss and decide which way to go. |

Our lone do everything stroller for DD1 was a Maclaren Triumph, DD1 never slept in the stroller until she was over a year old so we lucked out with the one recline position. I would also recommend a Maclaren Techno XT, but it weighs more than the Triumph. DD2 who sleeps anywhere including the stroller has needed the full recline of the Techno.
