Default Stocking stuffer ideas, please

I'm looking for stocking stuffer ideas. Particularly for a 9 month old girl and a 7 year old boy.

Thanks!
Catherine

I'm good with boys stuff, but my kids loved getting wooden spoons, small brooms and such when they were really young.

For older boys,
-a wind-up flashlight (llbean has great ones),
-a parachuting guy,
-hot wheels,
-swim goggles and snorkel,
-baseball gloves and other small sporting gear,
-candy (if you're into it).

I love giving Lula cute character toothbrushes. I avoid them the rest of the year, so it is a practical treat.

When she was a baby I gave her feeding spoons. Playsilks would be good too.

For baby I second the Sophie the giraffe idea. Haba makes nice small wooden teethers/toys also.

Ideas for your son would be a character drinking cup or glass, or paintbrushes for art (ikea has a cheap set).

I always put a toothbrush of some sort in the stocking.

9 month old:
food treats
stacking/nesting cups
hair accessories if she can use them (even for later)

7 YO boy:

Small Lego Sets (check target for small bagged sets in the Halloween section)
Lego Series 2 Minifigures (do a search in around the house if you want more info)
Marbles (although not good with a 9 mo old around, I suppose)
Jacks? (although not good with a 9 mo old around, I suppose)
Art supplies
Small books
calendar

Any gifts small enough to go in teh stocking, go there.

I even take apart gifts to find parts small enough to go in the stocking.
