is my BJCM 2010 or 2011 ?

I just received my black bjcm ordered from amazon. It did not specify year when i ordered and did not say pre-order like some others of a different color so i figured it would be a 2010 which was fine with me since this one was discounted. What has me confused is that the one i received has the velcro straps in the back to make it more upright (i'm assuming these are the new velcro straps) but it doesnt come with the pe board that the 2011 has. It doesnt have a big sticker saying 2011 on the box like someone else posted.

What is the date of manufacture? That may help to figure out. Either way, tomorrow I would call Baby Jogger and ask them. They should be able to tell you based on the serial number. If it is a 2011, you can tell them it didn't have the PE board (it would be inside the back, you'd have to open the velcroed compartment).
Someone had said that the black was not going to be avail until mid-November, but who knows...

2010- 08 - 01 is the manufacture date stamped on the box.

Hi - if the item number on the side of it is 81100, it's a new 2011 model.

Item number 87100 is a 2010 City Mini in Black.

ETA: my date of manufacture is 09-01-10 (Crimson). My PE board is already installed, and you can't see it unless you start taking stuff apart.

Such a mystery! The model is 87100, so thats a 2010 model, but it definitely has the upright velcro straps. Im very happy about this since i was debating wether or not to wait for the 2011; but i was too impatient to wait. Since it didnt come with a pe board, i just slid one of my sons books into the velcro pocket and it fits/works great. I figure it'll be usefull anyway to carry around a book for my son to look at once in a while instead of plain cardboard. Everything is working out great so far with this stroller... I attached the snack tray and found out that this enables you to have a standing fold. Right now the only problem im having is the locking clip on the side of the stroller. Its super hard to lock/unlock it to keep it folded. I actually broke a nail doing it. If it stays like this, i guess i wont be locking it closed... no biggie.

Maybe the straps were added toward the end of the 2010 model year, before the PE board change took place?

My 2011 (crimson) wasn't supposed to ship from Amazon until mid-November, so I was surprised when it came today. I'm not sure what you mean by a locking clip...do you mean the snaps that you're supposed to do when the stroller is opened up?

Have you tried the upright velcro straps yet? I attached them, and discovered that the stroller won't fold fully when they're attached. Are you having this same problem? I'm not 100% positive I attached the straps properly, but there seems to be only one way to do it. I wrote about it on this thread: http://www.windsorpeak.com/vbulletin...d.php?t=375636

For those that are using make-shift boards or have the PE board, I can figure out the dimensions easily enough. But how think is the board?

I don't know how thick the PE board is, but I think I used a diapers.com shipping box to make my board....

As for the lock to keep the stroller closed - it is super tricky - that's why I don't really use mine
