Default Cybex Onyx review and pictures : )

I was in the market for a "nice umbrella stroller" and ready to buy a Mac, then saw that fabulous sale at Overstock, so looked into the Cybex models. I already have a BJCE for all outside walks, so just wanted something like an umbrella, but not too bare bones.

I ordered a Cybex Onyx and patiently waited 5-8 business days for shipping!! Aaahhh!!! It only took 4 days, whew!

First impression: It's TALL! The handles are way taller than I was expecting. It's definetly "bigger" than a Mac overall.

I took it on a long walk on my bumpy cobblestone-esque streets. I was pretty surprised, it wasn't bad to push at all. It had a nice "flow" and didn't feel very rickety.

I bought the Purple color, and it's exactly like it looks online. There is a tad more "hot pink" on the trim than it looks like online, but I love pink and purple, so I love it! (I don't know why it looks maroon-ish in my photos, it's definetly a plummy purple color)...

I hung a heavy purse on the handle when it was empty, and it didn't tip.

I think it will be perfect for sporting events, the mall, and anywhere I need a smaller stroller.

For $68, I am very very VERY happy. It definetly feels like it's made of quality materials, the fabric is nice, it's easy to fold and unfold, etc. I probably would pay $150-$175 for this stroller if I needed to replace it.

I'm happy to answer any questions!

Cute! Your DD coordinates very well w/the stroller.
I got the Topaz in Indigo, and for the most part really like it, especially for the price! The handles are really tall, but at 5'2" I'm still comfortable with them. I'm not really used to umbrellas, I've only had a Volo, which I sold last week. The Cybex is way bigger & taller, but still seems lightweight and manageable to me. I like the push, the leg rest, and having the belly bar. I kind of miss the foam handles of the Mac though.

thanks everyone for the pictures. I love pics! (and Kaylee, the comparison pics are super helpful - those wheels are HUGE! that probably helps the ride a lot) I have been wondering about the handles... Are they plastic? Any coating or just a regular type plastic?

Okay, enough of the awesome Cybex threads! I debated for months between a Cybex Onyx and Mac Quest and finally settled on the Quest... please don't convince me I was wrong!

Have you seen the new super smooth white refrigerators? The handles feel like that. They are definitely plastic, don't know if they have a coating, but they feel super smooth and easy to wipe down. Also they are very thick. When I tried the Techno handles I preferred the foam but they felt super skinny in comparison. My husband tried the Techno as well and said he preferred the Topaz handles but didn't expand as to why.

They're plastic, but very sturdy. Easy to grip, but I just prefer having some texture there. They remind me too much of holding the handles of the elliptical machine at the gym!
