Need some help with our holiday card wording. We had pics taken on the beach back in October. Our photographer has designed an amazing card using many of the photos.
Right now, there is a white stripe going through the front of the card, near the bottom that only says "2010". The photo on the front is a close up of the three of us. ( you can see the waves in the background) I feel like it should say something else, but I am not sure what. Do I do something like "warm winter wishes from california" or "merry Christmas from the K------ Family" I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. |

Unless you're SURE every recipient celebrates Christmas, I'd skip that one.
I'd probably shorten the second to "Warm Wishes from California" - the 'winter' seems...forced?...in there. But then I like that choice. Someone more creative than I am (not difficult) will likely have an option I like better, however .

I'm a traditionalist. I'd say "Merry Christmas from the Smiths".....

I always say Happy Holidays because it covers all the bases.

I used to buy separate cards for Christians and non-Christians, wanting to have the "right" holiday greeting for each friend.
Now I've done a 180. We celebrate Christmas and love to send our Merry Christmas wishes to the people who are special to us. If someone celebrates Hanukkah, Ramadan, Kwanzaa or another holiday, I would be thrilled to get those holiday wishes. Merry Christmas from _____ is so sincere!

I like this.
I am never offended when I get a Merry Christmas card. I'm an agnostic Jew married to an Atheist who was brought up Church of England. It doesn't bother me at all. But, since we do the non-religious side of both Christmas and Hanukkah, the cards we send are always not religion-specific. My Jewish family would find it kind of strange to get a card from me that said Merry Christmas. While I think it is entirely appropriate for an individual Christian family to send out Merry Christmas cards, it is entirely inappropriate (IMO) for someone in elected office to send out cards that are not all inclusive. And I find it terribly bizarre that some people seem to think wishing someone happy holidays or the like is akin to some sort of all out war on Christmas. I do this now. But all of my dad's family is Jewish, so I feel like it would be a slap in the face coming from me to them. If it was a co worker or acquaintance, I would not worry about it.
