Default Does anyone else's 7 y/o not buckle themselves?

My 7 y/o dd cannot/will not buckle her own booster. Is it her/our car? She can do it fine with a backless booster but not her usual highback. She is not a terribly independent kid an her 2 year old sister sometimes beats her at getting ready for bed independently. My car (and my moms) are Honda Crvs and our buckle is floppy and does get stuck down in seat. My dh has Acadia and sometimes I can't even buckle it. She did buckle herself in nautilus harness until she ourgrew it. But it just seems ridiculous that I am buckling in a booster seat- although I like to check the belt path anyway. Is it just her?

No, not just her. My ds was one annoying struggle after another with the buckling... it seemed there did come a time where his arms were suddenly long enough and hand strength/dexterity were good enough, and it just wasn't an issue anymore. DD1 was always good at her own 5 point harness, but wasn't self-competent at boostering till about 8, either (she could in some, like the old armless Parkway, depending on the car, but armrests and floppy buckles are tough for a LOT of kids to deal with).

My DS is 6.5 and cannot buckle himself in his booster either. He can unbuckle himself. He has motor skill delays, so that is part of it.

DS1 is 7 and can unbuckle, but can't buckle. He has weak arm/finger strength and motor planning issues, so that contributes to the difficulty.

dd is 6 and has excellent fine motor skills. Honda Accord - floppy buckle. Monterey (arm rests). Has a hard time, can buckle, but take awhile. Are there extensions to the buckle we can buy?

like on this site? http://www.ifisher.com/resources.asp

DS just started buckling himself into his FR85 (still in harness mode--DS is 6). He cannot buckle himself in his HBTB in DH's car. The space between the seat and armrest isn't so big and his arms are not long enough and he has fine motor issues. Even I have trouble buckling to be honest. He can unbuckle it just fine though.

DD#1 (7 this April) needs help in DH's truck. She has been buckling herself in my former Ody and my current RAV4 since age 5.

I know there was an answer in another thread, but no, buckle extensions are absolutely NOT ok with boosters (they can change the fit of the belt and make it less effective in a crash, ie, more likely to cause injury )
