Default If you have a steam shower...

do you love it or do you find it not worth it?

DH just found a crack in the floor of our upstairs shower yesterday morning so we're going to use this as the chance to redo our upstairs bathroom. It's pretty small right now with just a stall shower, linen closet, sink with cabinet underneath and toilet. One of the closets in our bedroom is on the other side of the wall where the shower and linen closet are so we're going to bump the bathroom into our closet. We don't want to put a tub in up there as we rarely use the one downstairs since the boys like to take showers now. We're going to put in a big shower with multiple nozzles and have been debating about a steam shower. The contractor is coming Sunday morning to start sketching plans so we're getting our thoughts together.

Thanks

We considered it when we did our bathroom remodel but decided it wasn't worth it because it wouldn't add value to our home - and it was expensive to do properly (you have to consider the steam unit, whether you have enough space above the ceiling (in the attic) for it, proper waterproofing to prevent mold, including waterproofing behind the shower walls AND waterproofing of grout between tile to keep moisture from seeping (which is easier with steam than with just drops of water), ventilation to let all the steam out when done (also to prevent mold), etc.

I would have loved to have a steam shower though!!
