Default Summit XC arrived! Pics and a few questions

My Baby Jogger Summit XC arrived today. I'm not sure what exactly I was expecting, but boy is it big and heavy! I think it is even heavier than my queen b which surprises me given the large frame it has.

I was super excited for the great baby jogger fold, but honestly on a stroller this heavy and large I don't think the fold is that big of a deal. Also, when I fold it the handle immediately hits the ground, which will be a problem when I'm on pavement. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I'd hate for the handle to get all dinged up.

Aside from the width, the other negative thing about it is that the handle break is on the left. Since most people are right-handed I don't understand why they didn't put it on the right side. It's not that big of a deal, but still.

I was pleasantly surprised by a few things. First the seat recline issue is not as bad as I was expecting. It was fairly upright if you ask me. Also, the basket underneath was more accessible than I thought it would be, and it was larger too.

I'm not 100% sure I will keep it. Those darn rear tires do stick out, if only they could fix the width. What other all terrain type doubles would you consider comparable (aside from the revo duallie, I am not a bob fan). I was thinking of the valco tri-mode, maybe the bumbleride indie twin, and mountain buggies which I know nothing about. I'm not looking to jog with it. Mostly kept in the garage for outside walks and occasionally the zoo or fair. And of those that are comparable, what are the chances of getting those at a discounted price. With the mark-down plus credit I was able to get the summit for $372 out the door. If I get something else instead I'd like to keep it under $450.

Here are a couple pictures:

Fits through my front door, yay!

Plenty of growing room. DD is roughly 31" tall.

I love the color, and the large canopies!

I posted a bunch of pics comparing the Duo & Summit XC & BJCMD here:
http://www.windsorpeak.com/vbulletin...d.php?t=379868

Duo is also nice but more expensive and bulkier fold though. It's narrower, but bigger folded and heavier than the Summit. Summit actually folds pretty compactly for a jogging double.

Maybe Indie twin or wait for the Duet if you decide not to keep the Summit? You could also consider the BJCMD which is lighter and narrower, but is not all-terrain.

You are on the right track for other available all terrains. All the ones you listed are under 30" and would feel less wide. However I don't know if anyone will be able to find you one for $450 or less but keep asking any maybe someone can.

Mamabargains.com has been featuring the Easywalker duo. Its 29.8" wide and features a decent suspension. They list it at $400+shipping. That price includes the double plus a carrycot. You can stalk the site and hope to see it pop up or I have heard you can call them and order over the phone for a $5 fee. I think some of the colors have sold out so you may be limited there. I think there were red and aqua left last time I saw them.

The fold looks pretty compact too.

Cute pics! I vote keep it - GREAT stroller, GREAT price! I love our BJCED as it was supposed to be our "only" double, but that was before we were expecting a 3rd and lifting it daily while being 6m pg and 39 years old became tiresome. We got the BJCMD for free, so I took it. I long to have the big wheels of the summit some days when pushing my bazillion pounds of DC. Your DC will grow into it. The fold is fabulous, esp. for taking to the zoo and such. Seriously, keeeeep it!!!!

it looks super nice- i hope you have another double or a great single for your car and outtings as the summit is too wide to fit thru any single doors (my double bob barely scrapes by at 30.5 inches..) it loooks so nice and comfy for the kids!

I used to lift up my old BJCCD as it folded so the handle would not crash into the ground. I don't really know of any other way to solve that problem.

My advice is if you are not 100% in love, return it or you will keep buying and selling. Ask me how I know.

I have a BJCMD on order so the summit will be be outdoor only, so the width shouldn't be too much of a problem.
