Default spinet piano

I can't read music, but I love to sing. In fact, I have often wished I could take piano lessons.

DD also loves to sing, and I would like for her to learn to play the piano later -- if she wants.

I have even thought about us taking lessons together. I expressed this to DH, and he said that he might take them with me too. (Super neat since we have very few shared interests. )

Anyway, we have some friends that are going to sell us their standard spinet piano that is in great shape for a really good price.

Since no one at our house, etc. has any musical background, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the pros/cons to this piano.

We are excited and think it will be a great 'starter' piano at least....

It's a great starter piano. Heck, it's fine even if you stick with it forever. I played on a spinnet until I went off to college and minored in piano. Didn't really hear or feel the difference until after a semester of practicing on grands. Then it was like, "Whoa mama!"
