Default Advice for dealing with sick DS?

DS is 9 months old and he got a stomach bug from my ILs last weekend. He starting vomiting on Sunday morning, and also had diarrhea. We gave him pedialyte and no formula, and he was fine all day Monday. I got sick Monday night. DH didn't want to bother me to ask for instructions, so he took DS to the nanny will all his regular food/formula. It was too soon, and now DS has all the symptoms again.

The ped said give him pedialyte, but they weren't specific about how long we should withhold his formula. A nurse gave an unsure answer of 12-24 hours.

Any advice on what to do? DS seems hungry - we've given him a couple baby Mum Mums out of guilt, but not sure if that's the right thing to do either. I just feel so bad for him Poor kid has no idea what's going on or why his mean parents won't give him his milk!
