I plan to get a Rev Duallie for DS2 and the new baby due this summer. While it would be nice to have the latest and greatest, the current prices are better on the 2010s and I'm thinking about ordering one soon. But, as the title says, I am trying to figure out if I want 12" or 16" wheels. I will use the stroller for long walks on sidewalks and trails and for zoo outings and the like. DH runs and *might* use it occasionally for running but I hesitate to even take that into consideration as it will be rare and I will be using it everyday. As I see it, the 12" wheels would be nice for times I put it in and out of the car. But does the 16" model have better resale? Does it even matter?
Thanks for helping through my indecision!

if you're going to run or deal with conditions (i push mine through snow and woods) then get the 16"
if you're going to be dealing with putting it in the car, i bet the 12" is better for you, but i doubt that it will sell as well as the 16". your DH could run with the 12" and probably not miss the 16". its not like it explodes into flames when you try to run with it…. after all, there is that Nanny with the Quinny in my neighborhood that jogged with her tiny infant in it. |

Hi,
Really the only reason to get the AW 12" (other than style preference) is for the folded size. It's a bit more convenient than having to take the rear wheels off (about 10 seconds for each wheel) if space is a premium, like in a trunk. I guess maybe the 16" could re-sell more easily, since it's more popular overall. But if you want the Duallie AW 12", you should probably do it pretty soon. There may not be any to find by summertime... 2011 models will be replacing them! Hope that helps!

Personally, I'd go with the 16 inch, but I prefer the 16 inch BOBs to the 12 inch. If DH is going to RUN, I'd definitely go with the 16inch. (My DH jogs with our BOB 16inch single, had jogged with our 12 inch AT and notices a difference in stability, etc)... I think the resale is better on the 16 inch as well. But if you're putting it in and out of the car a lot, you might prefer the 12 inch (though getting the wheels off is not difficult)...
Either one is a good choice.. |

Thanks for your replies. I am thinking that the 16" will resale better and I'm not partial to the 12" wheels. I drive an Odyssey and I know I've seen neighbors put their duallies in the back of minivans without taking off the wheels so I'm hoping that will work for us too. Now to decide on a color.
Do you think it is worth paying more for a 2011?

![]() You can get a Duallie for $477 shipped in 16 inch version (possibly even less - I didn't look that hard), $420 in 12 inch. On my CL, I rarely see a Duallie listed for lower than $375 and those are not posted for more than a day or two. Generally they're in the $400s. So the resale is great. The new Duallies are going up in price by I believe $50, so about $615ish. So unless you would love a 16inch all black one, or really think the new looks are fabulous or are concerned about the adapters, I wouldn't spend an extra $150-200... Just my 2 cents. But I happen to love my 2009 single Revo 16 inch ![]() 16inch duallie: http://www.babyviva.com/show_product...erm=999513-237 12inch duallie: http://www.babyboutiqueoutlet.com/se...ers/Categories Last edited by poohbear; 01-25-2011 at 09:41 PM. |
