For a casual get together with another couple for lunch, what would you serve with it?

I do like coleslaw with it or potato salad. Always pickles!

Sweet hawaiian rolls, cole slaw, and fruit salad.
We like no-mayo cole slaw (like this one: http://southernfood.about.com/od/col...r/bl90612a.htm, but my recipe doesn't use the mustard - and its better the second day so good to make ahead).

Corn on the cob, coleslaw, baked beans and some sort of cobbler for dessert.

I hate Cole slaw, what could I do in place of that?

Grandma’s Pea Salad
The night before, make marinate: ¼ cup oil ½ cup vinegar 1/3 cup sugar Place 1 cup sliced water chestnuts in marinate and refrigerate The next day mix with: 2 cans LeSuer Peas ¾ cup chopped pecans 1 small onion chopped A few pimentos ½ cup mayo Salt/pepper I usually add the peas last, and very gently stir them together to prevent them from mooshing up. Add marinate to achieve desired taste. Gets better with refrigeration. Pretty on a bed of lettuce.

I'm assuming you're serving it on buns? Cole slaw is a MUST have with pulled pork! Many places actually serve their pulled pork sandwiches with cole slaw on it!
I would serve potato chips, baked beans, jello, cheesy potatoes (you know, that hashbrown potato recipe).
