I bought a dress to wear out tomorrow night and I am just not sure it fits right. It looks good and feels comfortable, there could be some wiggle room and I could possibly go down or up a size if it would improve the fit, iyo.
I bought the blue dress with coral sash at H&M. It has an elastic band that hits just under the bust line like an empire waist but in that picture it just doesn't look like that style. I feel like the cleavage in the picture is lower than it is on me though on me I definitely need a cami under neath to be decent. It really feels like the right size but the style when on isn't quite how I want it to be. Could just be that I have curves?? I don't know. Any ideas if I should go back and try on other sizes or if that is just how it should be? http://www.hm.com/us/#/instoresnowladies/ Beth

Sorry, don't know based on what you describe. I think I'd need to see a pic of how it fits you to say. And since that's probably not something I'd do, so I'm not going to be much help.

That link just goes to the general h&m site. I agree, I think we need photo to figure this out!

i see the dress.... um i think that dress is meant to be mini.. way above the knee, kinda like the yellow one w/ the black or navy sash. does it seem short/small?

Just looking at the picture of the dress, on its own, not on a model, it does look as though the sash would hit somewhere between the natural waist and right under the bust. Of course it is hard to tell since it's not shown on a model or mannequin.
I do find that H&M clothes tend to run smallish...I am almost always a size or two larger there than at Gap or Ann Taylor...and I find they tend to be cut for not-so-curvy figures (even my 32Cs can feel a bit squashed). I guess it all comes down to whether you are comfortable in the dress and like the way it looks. If you are second guessing yourself, you can probably do better. |

Thanks, everyone. I so wished that they had had it on a mannequin, on a sign or something at the store! It hits right above the knee (I'm short) and is so cute. I'm thinking that curves weren't really intended for te dress though it has extra fabric at the hips. I think I'll go with outfit number 2 and then spend some time in the H&M dressing room.

IDK, I think clothing tends to hang on model types differently than the rest of us. For H&M, I usually have to size up, since they tend to run small.

I have found some super cute stuff at H&M "in theory", but doesn't end up looking good on my body.
