Default Stroller just broke, what would you buy?

DH just called and told me the whole front wheel just snapped off of out Micralite Fastfold, so we need a new stroller. I loved the Micralite, DH hated it. DD is almost 3 and we use the stroller daily from about March to November for outdoor walks on very bumpy old sidewalks and occasionally on the bike path and beach. We'll use it at the mall a lot too. We're planning on having another within the next year or so. I'd like the stroller to work for an infant with parent facing and be able to have an add on for riding/sitting. I don't know if a one stroller will work for all these needs? What would buy or recommend?

Sounds like you're a candidate for something in the Uppababy Vista/Bugaboo Cam/Britax B-Ready family.

Since you're in Boston, you might see what they have at the Uppababy showroom. It's in Hingham near Derby St. Shops. I haven't been but have heard that they have good deals sometimes.

Did you contact the manufacturer? We had some troubles along the way with one of our strollers (Graco Metrolite) and they were always super helpful and we were able to easily fix our strollers. Just a thought since you love it.

Vista, BJ City Select, Britax Bready.

There's other non-reversible that take a toddler seat, but those are all the reversibles that come to mind. I have a Vista and we LOVE it.

If you don't mind that the older child rides a board instead of sitting, then there's a lot more options. Like the Bugaboo Cam, for example. Or if you want something lighter and don't need AT wheels: Bee, Uppababy Cruz (I think it's scheduled to be available this summer), etc.

We had considered a Vista earlier (especially because the warehouse is close like pp mentioned) I was just worried about the tires, do you think they can handle the bumpy roads and beach? I've always heard good things about the Vista is there a big difference between the Vista and Cam? Thanks for responses!

Vista is not very good on bumpy sidewalks IMO. It doesn't have enough suspension or the lack of tires, I don't know which one. Also I can't imagine it handling well on the beach although I haven't tried it.

You need an AT stroller for bumpy walks and the beach.

I disagree about bumpy sidewalks. I've been using mine for 7 months on our broken up sidewalks and I think it's great.

I love my B-Ready, but for bumpy roads and the beach I would definitely choose my Bob first.

First off I would contact micralite. Even if you don't want it anymore I would get it fixed so you can sell it.

Obviously you need to get the bugaboo donkey. No one here has committed to buying one yet.
