Hi. New here. I can't believe I've never come across this forum before. I'm babygear obsessed and what a relief I'm not the only one.
![]() So, I'm trying to decide what stroller to take on a trip to Vegas in April. My dd will be 4 months by then. I've never been to Vegas before which doesn't help me much. Here's what I own Maclaren Easy Traveler Maclaren Triumph Phil and Teds BOB revolution My first inclination is to take the triumph, but I once took the a Chicco umbrella when my daughter was an infant and wanted so much to have her face away from the crowds sometimes so she could nap easier. She was 8 months old so things were too distracting. The Easy Traveler would be my next choice but again tried that with my 2nd daughter as an infant and it was annoying to have to separate the carseat and stroller when using the bus. (Don't know if this is an issue in Vegas). I also don't like that she would be in the bucket for an extended period of time. She gets hot and sweaty in it even now in 60-70 degree weather. I do tend to babywear a lot however and think I may just use the seat during meals so that I have a place to put her. I have the Snuggin Go which I think should eliminate the breathing concerns that I've seen on this board. The Phil and Ted seems like a great option because she can lay flat but she will likely have no sun coverage. I also have the travel bag for it and a lazy ted adaptor which is nice knowing she would also have a bouncy seat in the hotel. I probably would not take the BOB since I don't have a travel bag for it and don't intend to buy one. I've just learned about the Indigo here on this board and think it's just what I need/want. Not terribly pricey and my LO can face me which she should at this age. Does it fold compactly enough for the plane, cabs, public transportation? Again I've never been to Vegas so I don't know what our options will be. I'm guessing we'll do a lot of walking. Dh would kill me if I bought another stroller since I just bought the 2010 BOB last week when it was on sale and he doesn't want to store any more strollers in our garage! So I'd sell the Traveler and some other things to fund the Indigo. But I've read some reviews concerning the quality of the indigo, particularly the wheels and it's longeveity. I wouldn't expect it to last more than a year. I just don't know if I should by a stroller of low quality for temporary use that I probably can't resell later. Then again I love the Triumph so much that I'm sure I'll switch to that after a year and I've always wanted a stroller where baby faces Mommy and that lays completely flat. Its the one feature I've never had. What do you guys think? Here are the pics ![]() ![]() ![]() BTW this new Snuggin Go thing is awesome! I wouldn't even consider the carseat as a travel system or the triumph without it. |

Your daughter is so beautiful! If I were you and another stroller wasn't an option, I'd probably take the Mac. Maybe bring a wrap or carrier so you can wear her sometimes if she needs to nap?
You have two super lightweight options with no features, and two heavy-duty options that are hard to travel with. Have you considered owning a mid-range stroller like a Baby Jogger City Mini? It's lightweight with an easy fold, reclines flat for naps, has a crazy canopy and shocks to handle bumpy sidewalks. That's the stroller you need for Vegas. Or an upgraded Mac, or a Keekaroo. Your husband is going to hate me.

We stopped in Vegas for a few days during a week long road trip and I used my bumbleride indie twin. We walked 3/4s of the strip went in and out of casinos, ate at a few restaurants (during low traffic hours) and never had a problem. Everything is ADA compliant so I wouldn't worry about having too big of a stroller for Vegas. We never took a cab or PT; just walked everywhere downtown and stayed at a friend's house in North Vegas who drove us.
My friend just bought the indigo and its pretty awesome. The fabric is not very luxurious but the frame feels solid, the seat is super easy to flip and remove, and the fold although in two pieces (while parent-facing) is very easy too. I would vote for the indigo and I would bring a garbage bag or gate check bag to protect the seat from airplane grime.

Your DD is gorgeous! That pink Triumph is super cute. What is that hot pink bat wing-like thing is the last picture? She looks so comfy all stretched out in it. Is it something you can put on the P&T? Seems like you have an awesome stroller lineup, but I think you could sell the ET and get the Indigo for now.
I don't think the Indigo is low quality at all. Yes, ppl have had issues w/the wheels, but mostly just squeaking that didn't affect performance at all. I sprayed lubricant on mine and didn't have any more problems. It is a great stroller to have for a baby for the parent-facing feature. I agree you wouldn't really need it once your DD is past a year old, then you could just use the Triumph. I would order the Indigo from Diapers.com and check it out. You can always return it if you don't like it. If you've already used a 15% off code from them, I would have them PM another site. I'm not sure what the best deal out there is right now. Maybe if you had a Kohls card, you could use the next 30% code on it. Or BabyVia has a 15% off (BRU15) to bring it down to $136. http://www.babyviva.com/product/stro...o-geo-red.html Or if you had a $10 off Amazon coupon, I would just buy it from them-- the red or gray would be $140 w/FS and free returns.

Thanks for the responses and such sweet compliments!

What is that hot pink bat wing-like thing is the last picture? The more I think about it, the more I realize that I what I really want is for baby to be able to see me. I saw a Britax Vigour on my local CL for $100 (Is this too bulky to travel with?) a B Frog for $300 and and a red Bugaboo frog at Buy Buy Baby today for $480 ( Is that a good deal?). The Frog seems great but can I say I'd be embarrased to have such a fancy stroller? Although as you can easily see mine add up to more than the Frog. Some reviewers of the Frog say it's annoying in Suburbia because it's not a one step fold which can get cumbersome for in and out trips. I'd also end up selling the BOB and it seems that BOB is more useful than the Bugaboo don't you think? I bought it for jogging and my 5 year old can still ride in it. Perfect for lots of walking in combination with the P&T when we have all our 3 dd's. I'm leaning toward the indigo because the only reason I was hesitant was because of durability. How's the fold? roseyloxs--Since you mentioned restaurants, is smoking allowed at all restaurants? Is this why you avoided traffic hours? Kaylee31 Thanks so much for the info on deals!!!

I'm likely to go with the Indigo and sell the traveler but I also looked at other options on my local CL. There's a Britax Vigour for $100. Is it too bulky for travel? I read it was heavy. There's also a Bugaboo Frog on CL for $300 and one at Buy Buy Baby for $472. Is this a good deal? I loved it but I think I'd feel a little embarrassed to have such a "fancy" stroller on top of all my other ones too! I actually wouldn't want the attention there just not common enough here like in the city. And is it annoying to have a two parts to fold and unfold? Some reviewers mentioned it might not be practical in the suburbs where you're constantly taking it in and out of your trunk. Also, I'd have to sell the BOB if I got the Bugaboo. Isn't the BOB more practical with the one step fold and ability to use longer. My 5 year old still loves riding and I like the option of having a stroller for all three girls in strollers for long trips like the zoo and such. HTML Code:
I would vote for the indigo and I would bring a garbage bag or gate check bag to protect the seat from airplane grime. |

You could buy a used Bugaboo Bee... very lightweight, easy to travel with and great parent-facing feature (I'm a big fan of reversible-seat strollers!)
You should be able to pick one up for under $250, with some accessories included |

The restaurants we went to were not smokey but Vegas was the most smoke friendly city I have been to in a long time. We went on a weekday and at 11 and 4 so the restaurants were basically empty. I am eating with an almost 4 and almost 2 year old though so this is more important for us. We need to be in and out quickly for optimal behavior. If you could find one of these that would be awesome. The seat is much lower then the indigo though. An indigo can be pushed right up to the table once your dd is of eating age. The bee though is much too low for that.

I would still recommend the Indigo b/c it's a great value for the price, and you wouldn't be too worried that something would happen to it while traveling. But a Bugaboo would be nice too if you can find one cheap; it's going to have so much better resale value than the Indigo. |

So now I've changed my mind completely. I'm looking at a Four Seasons Mac. Love the stroller and it is a step up from the Triumph I already own but which would you use to travel with a 4 month old. The Triumph or the Four Seasons? Is the Four Seasons too much stroller for the airport?
I think I'll give up a stroller with the baby facing parent option for ease in portability and settle with a peekaboo window, plus it reclines more but is it too much stroller for everyday (in and out of the car) and later with a toddler (because I'll definitely have to sell the triumph if I get this)? |
