Default so I tried a neti pot........update post 21

Supposedly my sinus infection is gone. Thanks, that's the least the antibiotic could do after causing a biphasic allergic reaction and having me admitted to the hospital overnight, that insurance has decided not to cover. sorry for run-on sentence.....

I am still sick but should not be having sinus problems. Can someone please tell my sinuses??!! The pain is unbelieveable but no congestion.

I decided to try the neti pot since I already use saline mist. Dr. said it will go further into sinuses than the spray. I researched it here and saw some positive info.

I just tried it and if nothing else it gave me some slight relief. I plan to use it every day even if I only get a few minutes of relief.

It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, was not uncomfortable or gross at all.

I'll let you know how it goes after a few days.

I love the neti pot. I have a friend who uses hers every day to keep sinus infections/ allergies away. I'm not that dedicated, but I do start using mine at the first sign of anything sinus-y.

Hope it helps you.

Very interesting. Where does one pick a good one up?

I got the neilmed one at CVS. You get the pot and the packets of mixture. No stinging or burning at all.

My neti pot has staved off multiple sinus infections. It's a lifesaver!

I actually have two...a "real" neti pot that I bought at Whole Foods (it's pretty! LOL) and the neilmed sinus rinse bottle (bought at Costco with tons of packets). I like how the neti pot *feels* better, but the neilmed bottle is a lot easier/quicker to use, IMO.

Maggie, can I be really nosey (sorry, bad, bad pun) and ask what kind of tests you've had with this sinus infection you've been fighting? I don't know why, but my spidey-senses are all tingly over this one. Maybe one of our medical BBB friends can chime in? Is the pain supposed to be there after the infection is gone?

Hope the neti pot continues to offer you relief.
