I could have done without the singing. I didn't think it was terrible and it helped make the episode less emotionally draining but it seems like the acting was pretty bad and much of the singing looked like a bad music video. The only song that I found really horrible was the one in the middle of the episode that begins with the dream/flashback sequence. Yuck.

I wanted to watch the episode b/c I wanted to know what was going to happen to Callie and her baby and the singing drove me nuts! DH was laughing the whole time. I thought the singing quality was fine, but just not necessary.
A few minor "plot" issues: 1) I think the baby was 23 weeks, isn't 23 weeks (I think the baby shower was the day before) early to have a baby shower? I mean it just seemed awfully early to be doing the shower when it was a bunch of work people who are always there. 2) It's a good thing no one else in the Seatle area needed medical care since just about every surgeon and intern was working on Callie/baby (besides the guy from Ally McBeal).

So those really were the actors singing? I hadn't heard much about the episode, so I just kind of assumed it was dubbed. I'm kind of on the fence about the episode. I like that they try different things, but I just didn't get the singing. It was just not my thing. I especially disliked the sex song. It just didn't fit that everyone had these big grins on their faces in the middle of all of that. Sex I could buy, but not happy, smiling, walking on sunshine b/c we're so in love sex. I was bawling at the end though!

Can I say again, Ummmmmmmmmmm......yeah. Ramirez was a wow; everyone else was a dud. It was really distracting from the story, which otherwise could have been really powerful. Grey's is a disaster, but I cannot turn away.

Yes, the actors were the singers. I was really surprised by that.
I didn't really think the bursting into song was inappropriate because I understood the episode as an out of body experience for Dr. Torres. So, they weren't really bursting into song in the ER....Dr. Torres just thought they were. That's how I got my head around it at least!

Ok, I'll dissent and admit that I liked it. The only one I didn't like was the sex song mentioned above. I thought Callie had a great voice, and little Grey too.

OMG! That's what I was trying to remember!!! It was just like Across the Universe...people who shouldn't sing, did....
I stopped watching Grey's a while back because it seemed like they were killing babies all the time... So I watched last night... Surprise, surprise... a baby may die. |

I hated it. It was odd. I would have liked it better without the singing.

Sara Ramirez has an EP out on iTunes now. I think she has a nice voice. I thought the episode was just ok. Like PPs I was distracted with the singing but it did take the edge off of a potentially stressful episode.

It's obvious here that most of us didn't like it. I wonder what feedback they are getting for the episode and if they are happy they did it, or regret doing it
