Default Royal Wedding

I will be traveling on the day of the Royal Wedding so I won't be able to watch it live. I remember when Di married Charles. I was 10 years old, my mom woke me up in the middle of the night and we watched it together. At the time I thought it was the most beautiful gown ever!! I want to DVR the wedding to watch it with DD when I get back from my trip. So who here will be watching the wedding? Will you be watching it live or DVRing it? Which channel do you think will be the best to watch it on?

My mom bought me a Peggy Nesbit Diana Wedding Dress doll. I want to buy something like that too for DD. What souvenirs do you want to get?

Is anyone else getting royal wedding fever?

I definitely want to watch but will DVR it. I think DDs will love to see it, too! I've been telling them there's going to be a regular girl that marries a prince and becomes a princess.

What channel do you think will have the best coverage?

I remember my mom waking me up when I was 8 years old to watch Charles and Diana's wedding. The good news is, 30 years later, there are DVRs to record the thing so I can sleep in and still see everything! Plus I can fast forward through the boring parts - I remember as a kid, dying over the opera singing and even the vows that were somewhat hard to hear.

I think about how often I refer to my daughter as "the Princess" or, if she's being really obnoxious and bossy "the Queen." Then I wonder if the Middleton's ever referred to their daughter that way as a little girl, only to find out years later that that will be a legitimate name for her eventually! So weird.

I will watch highlights of the wedding, but am not going to buy any memorabilia or stay up at night to watch it. No offense to anyone, but I don't quite get the excitement.

Its Friday at 4 am Eastern 1 am Pacific. All the networks are carrying it. I think I'm going to record NBC because I like Today better than GMA but CNN has Piers Morgan, I don't think he's a good interviewer but he's English so it might be cool listening to an Englishman describe it. They all use the same video feed so you won't get different views from different channels.

Very good to know about the video feed. I was also thinking CNN/Piers Morgan!

After Diana and Charles were married, my grandma made my cousin and I newspaper trains, the length of Diana's. It was summer and we paraded around in the backyard in them. I think I was 9.

Flash to Diana's funeral- it was almost a yr to the date of my grandma's death- hard because all I remembered was that fun paper train adventure!

I may watch the wedding a little with DD, who is 3- it could be fun, esp since DD's name is Kate!

I was 4 when Charles and Diana married. I don't recall if I watched the wedding or not, it was summer so I am sure I was outside playing instead. We had no memorabilia from it.

I am planing on recording it on BBCA, but there coverage goes on from 1 am to sometime in the afternoon I think so I will just record the highlights I guess. I might try and eventually find some knock off designer Barbie wedding dress for DD2 if they make them but I won't be fretting if I don't get one and I won't be paying an extravagent sum for one either.
