Default "How-To" video montage

we're throwing a party for my parents' 40th wedding anniversary

we want to put together a montage set to music

i was totally ready to hire someone, until they told me that they can't use anything but instrumental music b/c of copyright issues

i have a feeling that anyone i would try to hire is going to have the same issue with music

so i want to try and do it myself.

but i have not a clue where to start

can anyone offer guidance? what kind of software do i need/where do i buy it?

is it hard?

thanks

I can't answer your question, but can you just have them do the montage without music, then create an iPod playlist to run simultaneously? Might not work if you only want snippets of songs, but just a thought. I'm sure someone will have a better suggestion! Good luck

If you are on a PC with Windows, I recommend Photodex ProShow Gold. If you are on a Mac, I recommend FotoMagico.

Both are super easy to use and can be bought direct from them and downloaded. I've made several photo slideshows using both and they are always a big hit!

I just made one for a wedding using animoto. I bought the songs from amazon. It was super easy!
