Unhappy Stroller for Hawaii

Please pick our stroller for HI with 2 yo dd.
Dh, dd, and I are flying out to HI in 2 week. I am not calling it a vacation since we are going as a request from dh’s aunt that is losing her battle with colon cancer and very last minute so this trip was not budgeted for. Dh’s entire family (his parents and sister’s family) will also be out because she wants to see everyone one more time, and we have not seen her since we were in HI 6 years ago. It will be quick trip especially from the east coast. We are only staying 5 days (4 nights) in Honolulu (hyatt regency), and will have a standard size rental car for us and dh parents. The hotel’s pool is being renovated and will have to travel to the Marriott to use a pool or hit the beach across the street if we have down time, but I’m not sure what else we will be doing since it is going to be a difficult trip for everyone. Options:
Bug Cam (checked in)
Mac Quest (gate check)

We are trying to pack light. We will be checking in one piece (hoping to get all my clothes, dd’s clothes and toiletries in that), trying to limit ourselves to one carry on, since will also be taking a dd’s carseat with a go-go kidz, a backpack each, diaper bag, and cooler for her food and drinks. If we take the Mac do we need to bring the go-go kidz? Is there a way to jury rig the carseat to the stroller since we don’t have a travel bag for it and would most likely gate check it?

Sorry to hear about your DH's aunt!

We flew from the Boston to Hawaii last year with our 2 DS's. DS #2 was 16 months at the time. We flew with a Quest with a Britax Roundabout. It was perfect for us since the Roundabout fits in the Quest. We bungeed it to the stroller and then strapped DS in the seat while in the airport. I would take your Quest and try to fit your carseat in it - that way you won't need the go go kidz!

I'd take the Quest and bungee the car seat to it, like the PP did.

Thank you. i am just glad we have the resource to make the trip to see her and hopefully give her little bit more happiness, peace, and closure. we actually have a roundabout but were planning to take the spare cosco scenera. i'll take the time this weekend buy some bungee cords and try out the carseat in the quest.

love the pic, ds is adorable!
