We're looking at wagons for DS, since he is really unhappy in a stroller these days, but we have a bunch of outings planned for the summer where we know it will be too much walking for him to keep up all day, and we really don't want to carry his 36-lb self for miles in 90+ degree heat!
We're pretty open to any suggestions, as long as it's not super tiny (big enough to fit one large toddler and his stuff, LOL) and we'd love one that either comes with a canopy or top, or has the ability to easily add one on as an accessory. We'll primarily be using it on pavement/concrete, just need something comfy for DS and not really awkward for us to pull. Bonus points if it can fit in the back of a mid-sized SUV. Thanks for any suggestions! |

I just bought a folding wagon at BJs for $80- another mom on here raved about it a couple weeks ago.
This is the link to the exact wagon: http://www.amazon.com/Edge-900124-Fo.../dp/B001QGUFDO I haven't used it in the real world yet, so hopefully some BTDT moms will chime in. |

I have the Radio Flyer Ultimate Family wagon and love it. Got it at Walmart for $99. I use it to pull the kids to the park, pool, around the block, etc. I've also used it to haul sand and mulch from my car to my back yard. And currently it's in the backyard because the older one likes to pull the younger around the yard.
I wanted a wagon that had some storage because my little one is still in diapers and I needed somewhere to keep a small diaper bag/skip hop pronto on our outings. And I love that the seats fold down flat, or one can be up, or you can change the configuration of the seats. My older one is constantly changing the seats at her whim. When I was researching, the wagon posted above was also a contender. I think I didn't go with that one because I preferred the idea of actual seats with seat belts because my littlest was under a year at the time. My oldest is almost 5 years old in the picture below. And the Radio Flyer wagon has a 200# weight limit (which is have needed when hauling other stuff besides kids - like the sand). http://www.radioflyer.com/wagons/ult...ily-wagon.html It says for 18 months and up, but my littlest one has been riding around in it since around 9 months old or so. They got it for Christmas. Last edited by lhafer; 06-28-2011 at 08:14 AM. |

We have the Radio Flyer All Terrain Wagon.
http://www.radioflyer.com/wagons/all...ood-wagon.html It's pretty basic in comparison to a lot of other wagons out there today (no seats or seatbelts, no special storage compartments) but that's one of the things we like about it. DD also got tired of strollers, and this allows her to feel open & free. Since there aren't seats, if we're out at some all day event (rare) she can even just lay down & take a nap. The All Terrain feature is great and has made this wagon in-valuable in all kinds of situations. Think bumpy festival ground, this weekend we took it to the beach & it went through the sand no-problem. Mind you, once it was loaded up with DD, our cooler, beach toys, etc it was pretty heavy to tug through the sand, but it was do-able. Usually it's pretty easy to pull. A few months ago we bought sled dog harnesses for our 2 labradors & now we hook them up to the wagon to pull DD. (We keep them on a loose leash - just in case.) Next time we go to the beach, they're coming along to do the pulling! ![]() Oh, and you can get the canopy for it: http://www.radioflyer.com/accessories/wagon-canopy.html But we found out at the beach this weekend that you can just put two or three pool noodles in there with a towel over the top & that turns it into a covered wagon too! Necessity is the mother of invention - right?

I love my folding wagon. My son didn't like it until he was over a year old, so I didn't worry about it not having seats. Now he loves it! It can hold 150 pounds, I think. It's just so convenient to have one that folds! I can take it anywhere.
The only thing I have to compare it to is the small metal RF wagon. There's NO comparison -- the folding one is WAY better! ETA: That storage compartment on the back can fit a BIG diaper bag, and sometimes other stuff. I bet I could fill a SWC Whale and fit it in there.

I'm one of the ones who also bought the folding wagon - - and I have to say we still love it and use it. We ALSO have a radio flyer AND a step 2 one - but neither fit easily in the back of my SUV. Both of those have permanently made their ways to grandma's houses - - for walks only.
I love that i can also fit OTHER stuff in the trunk with the folding wagon - which was impossible with the plastic wagons. Here's a pic of us heading to the St. Patricks day parade in the folding wagon. A little tight with 3 kids (ages 1,3,5) but still doable!!! Pushing around 110 pounds isnt the easiest either - - but at least i didn't have to chase them or CARRY them when they were tired. Last edited by Mikey0709; 06-28-2011 at 01:50 PM. |

We have a Step 2 wagon and love it. The IL's got it from Costco for about $50 I think. DS also hated the stroller, but will go ANYWHERE in the wagon. I also love that when #2 is old enough to join his big bro in the wagon, you can add the little trailer to the back to carry gear for longer outings. I'm not sure if they have canopies, but we've been ok without one so far.
This is the one we have: http://www.step2.com/product.cfm?product_id=1149 |

Keep your eyes on craigslist - I'm always seeing wagons listed.
