Default Super hero cape party favors

I would love to hand out super hero capes as a party favor for my DS party. Does anyone know of any site that offers them at a reasonable price?

I'm doing the same thing for my DS' upcoming 4th birthday party. I found some nice ones on etsy. If you search etsy for "superhero capes" you should get a number of hits. One seller is selling party packs of 20 for $120, which would make them $6 apiece. You can convo with the seller for fewer if you don't need that many. I ended up buying fabric on sale from Jo-Ann for about $2.50 a yard and felt squares for 25 cents each and having my mom help sew them up. The pattern is super easy, one I copied from a cape I bought from DS from powercapes.com. There are other free patterns I saw on the Internet just by Googling. I cut out stars and lightening bolts from the felt and sewed them on.

Good luck!

The etsy seller I was thinking of is "lotsocapes". Looks like a party pack of 10 is $65. Lots of colors to choose from.

pomegranate, can you link to the free patterns you liked? How much did they end up costing you? Thanks!

mum-to-be,

Here are two links I liked:
1) http://thelongthread.com/?p=98
2) http://pukingpastilles.com/?p=57

I used the emblem patterns from The Long Thread. Just printed them on 8.5 x 11, no size adjustment.

For the cape pattern, I thought The Long Thread one was too complicated for my simple project and I wanted to keep costs down and not do two-side fabric. I ended up taking DS' cape that we bought from Powercapes.com (http://powercapes.com/custom-superhero-cape) and just making a pattern out of it. The pattern looks very similar to the Puking Pastilles link above. My mom said the only tricky thing was sewing around the round parts at the bottom. If you're a beginner sewer, you might opt to do straight bottoms like in The Long Thread pattern.

The fabric I got was Costume Satin from Jo-Ann. Regular price $3.99/yard, with 40% off coupon equals $2.40/yard. Each cape took 3/4 yard, or $1.80. Felt rectangles are on sale for 25 cent apiece; I can get 2-4 emblems on one felt. My mom had velcro. She also had lots of thread. So I figure the total cost for each cape was under $3.

The color combos I did were:
Red fabric, blue or yellow emblem (boy)
Blue fabric, red or yellow emblem (boy)
Lavender fabric, hot pink emblem (girl)
Hot pink fabric, yellow emblem (girl)

Hope this helps!

My son had a super hero birthday party when he turned 4 earlier this year. I ordered red capes and blue capes for $1.50/ea from haloheaven.com. They were really nice. I also ordered superhero masks from an etsy vendor for fairly cheap to match. They were a huge hit. The link is below -
