Default Help me find the name of this book...

OK, last time I posted on some obscure movie, several people actually came up with the title! This time it's a book. A friend mentioned this book, I think she said it was called "D. L.'s Dream", but that must not be it, b/c it's not coming up on Google.

It's supposedly about an older black man who used to play the blues and a young white woman. He is the first person who treats her with respect, as all men in the past have just used her for sex. She falls in love with him, but he declines her advances. He starts playing the blues again. Eventually, they do have sex. I *think* those are the details.

Does that ring a bell for anyone ??

Killers of the Dream? Fits the general subject and title, but it is a collection of essays, so the synopsis isn't matching your storyline.
