Default Parkway or Monterey?

For DS.

DS is 6.5 yrs old, 55 lbs and 49 inches. This seat would be for a 2006 Honda Odyssey 2nd row captains chair.

Can you try them out anywhere? I would think somewhere around you would have the Monterey.

I know Bubbaray has said her DD prefers the Monterey over the Parkway, so I hesitate to blanket recommend one over the other. In that seat, you will have plenty of room. Are you going to be moving it between cars at all?

DS sat in the parkway at BBBaby today. He was literally smooshed shoulder to shoulder in it and he said it was really uncomfortable. It was odd b/c he does not complain about the HBTB, but the sides of the parkway do not seem to be able to move and the headwings are huge and he said he did not like that either.

He has sat in a monterey before and liked it, so it looks like that is what I will be getting.

Sounds like the right choice! Glad you could get a look at them.

My DS (close to 8YO and almost 70lbs) cannot even attempt to squeeze in a parkway, but he fits in a Recaro Probooster & Graco HBTB just fine. He didn't like the monterey except in black leather...

Unfortunately the Recaro is too tippy in the 3d row of my '09 Sienna, but it did fit fine in the captains chairs. He sits in the Graco HBTB in my car.

o_mom is correct, we have both and DD#1 definitely prefers the Monterey for comfort. The PW is nice to have as its easy to move between vehicles. I would NOT want to move the beast-of-a-Monterey, um, like ever. Its a PITA to unhook from the LATCH anchors.

I don't like the fit of the HBTB in my car. It didn't fit DS well and it was tippy b/c the belt is mounted on the side of the car and not the seat. It fits well and fits DS well in DH's car (which is where DS uses it). I'm hoping the monterey will be ok in my car (2006 Odyssey).

It installs like a dream in your van. It won't move, trust me. The only complaint I had was that it was a huge PITA to uninstall.

Why is it so hard to uninstall? Just curious. For me the FR85 is not hard to uninstall, but it is a pain b/c it's LATCHED and TT in booster mode. I assume the monterey is harder than the FR85?
