Default If you have a BOB Duallie..

where do you use it??

I live in the suburbs where you don't walk much, though we walk to our grocery store sometimes or Starbucks. Then, there's the zoo. But other than that, not sure where to take this beast!

I tried the mall once and while the ride was nice, it really felt like a monster and I couldn't even enter into Gymboree.

Is this more of a city-dweller's stroller? Who and for what situations is it good for?

Thanks!

i live in the suburbs too, where public transportation literally does not exist..you have to drive EVERYWHERE. i wish i could walk to a grocery store or something, bc i'd definitely use it for that if i could!

we've only had Duallie for a week or so. so far we use it on daily walks around the neighborhood. since we try to go every day, for at least 20 mins it's worth it for that alone IMO. We plan to take it to places like the zoo once the weather gets nicer and kids are a bit older. And once DD is older and i start getting into shape i plan to take it to actually jog!

i have BJCMD in my van for when we go to the mall. i see people at the mall at Disney Store, PBKids with BOB Duallie and i agree, it's a beast and it takes up the whole store and makes everyone clear out of your way. I wouldn't do the mall with a BOB Duallie, but I've seen ppl here do.

Lol. I don't have a Duallie, but I always think of BOBs as an outdoor stroller for sporty people. I think it's best for walking, hiking, jogging, long days spent during outdoor activities, etc. The mall & Starbucks is definitely not BOB's forte.

I don't have a duallie but I have an mbud - same idea, an AT double. We take it to the library, playgrounds, the park, and stuff around town. Walking the dog. I don't ever put it in the car. I don't think they're meant for city or country, I think they're most useful in walking-friendly neighborhoods.

I have a BJCMD for the mall.

I've seen it outdoors for walks and occasionally at Costco. I have the single and it never goes in my car.

My neighbor always used hers in the neighborhood or stroller strides. She had other options for shopping, etc. I think even an MB duo is more indoor friendly being just a few inches skinnier.

There is no stroller on the planet, even singles that would have fit in my old gymboree. That is the most unkid-friendly kid's store I have ever seen. Needless to say I only bothered going in there once. Not catering to your audience/customer just makes me mad. Its ridiculous.

Saw a few of you mention here having both a BJCMD and a Duallie.

We just had #2 and #1 is 20 months. I have a brand new BJCMD sitting here that we've only wheeled around inside. I think it looks like a great stroller but am having second thoughts about whether it's the best choice for us. We live in the country, basically... a real neighborhood (no sidewalks though) where I walk pretty regularly and we're about an hour from a metro area. I guess I thought the BJCMD was probably the best choice because it will fit so easily in the car but now I'm not so sure. We have a single Bob and a Peg Si that we loved for #1 (and I really think it was smart to have the two different strollers to meet our different needs). I'd sort of hoped to have one double stroller but now I'm wondering if having two will ultimately be the best way to go. Right now I'm using the single Bob for walks and carrying #2 in a Bjorn but that is a bit tough on my back. But I can't imagine trying to get around town (or do any traveling) with a Duallie or something similar. Maybe the City Mini GT would be our answer if it was out yet, but apparently some of you have decided that it makes sense to have both kinds of strollers. I wish there was a perfect answer!!

If you only want one double, I would look at the MB Duet or Bumbleride Indie twin since they're the smallest AT doubles (the Duet is about the same width as some singles). The GT does look great, but (IMO) the colors are ugly and the forever air tires aren't quite as good as real air tires for outdoors.

The BJCMD & Duallie seems like a great combo if you have the space & budget for both. I believe the BOB seat & recline (doesn't have a deep recline) are only recommended for a baby over 8 weeks though. Unless you use a carseat, which is another expense for the adapter-- and I wouldn't recommend putting a baby in a carseat for walks & extended periods anyway.

We have a single bob not a double and we live in the suburbs ( like can't walk anywhere at all from our house). We use ours outdoors only. I take it down to our waterfront area every morning and walk/run for exercise with it. That's it pretty much, the farmers market in the summer too.

I don't have a Duallie, but I live in a similar neighborhood and I use my AT double all the time. We bring it to the park, to 7-11, on my fairly frequent walks to further postpartum weight loss, I pick up my kids from school using the stroller, and we walk to synagogue every Saturday with it. I don't have a car double and I don't think I need one. Either my 3 year old walks and the baby rides or the 3 year old rides and I wear the baby. Or even better, the kids stay at home with dad, and I go to the mall all by my lonesome.
