Hmmm, maybe I should jump. Anyone used this on a newborn?

I'm not sure if it will work with a newborn. From what I have read though, Britax models need the insert to fit a newborn and this model is not compatible with the infant insert. Target lets you return the item for a full refund though if it doesn't work.

It really just depends on the baby as far as fit goes. That price though plus AAA, and TArget Card 5% is tempting, but I don't how much past 2/1/2 that seat will be my DD2 rear facing (her curre t seat will expire then).
