Default Nook owners, are you tempted to switch to Kindle?

I have to ask, as I'm very jealous of the Kindle lending library feature they've added (it is free with Prime). I haven't done much research, but I'm wondering if it might be worth making a move...

I do use my local library, but honestly the selection is not very good (and supposedly it is one of the best in country) and the wait can be crazy long for a book.

Anyone else tempted?

Also, do you think this will kill the Nook business? I do feel that Amazon has gone for the jugular with B&N.

Nope. I don't think the Lending Library is going to have a big enough effect on the Nook business to make a difference- because Prime is required in order to use it. Technically, it is not a free service, it is just an add on to an existing Amazon premium service.

That said- DH pre-ordered a Kindle Fire even though we both already have a Nook Color. We also have Prime. Personally, I don't think he uses his Nook enough to justify getting another tablet e-reader.

Unless they changed things it's only one lent book a month so 12 freebies a year... definitely not worth it when I can ready 12 books or more in a month!

I know! After I posted I went and read the details. Twelve books is nothing.

I was until I read it was 1 per month. Definitely not worth it, since I already have a healthy epub collection. I also just upgraded to the nook touch since I needed a longer battery life. Happily, DH, who doesn't normally read much, has been reading using my first gen.
